Description
Create family memories in our vacation cottage on Georgian Bay. Peaceful, dead end, Hope Bay Road, just 30 minutes from Wiarton. Enjoy water activities on our private waterfront in spring, summer, and fall. Enjoy playing outdoor games all year long. Winters with real snow, building snowmen and having snowball fights. Enjoy your evenings full of indoor games with the kids. Or explore all that the Bruce Peninsula has to offer including Caves, Beaches, the Bruce Trail, and so much more. The space We are on the waterfront with private access to the water, dock, and sitting areas. The water is sandy after about 10' out from shore so water socks are recommended. Our neighbour to the east rents personal watercraft for your enjoyment. See other info for more details. Winter Access Winter can be a wonderful season to embrace and there is no better area to enjoy snow then here. However, a few considerations are worth mentioning. Our driveway is plowed regularly but because it is gravel, the plow has to leave a snow pack. Because of the hill, some vehicles may have difficulty getting up. It is okay to park your car at the bottom and walk up. Our driveway is about 100' long. Please understand the Bruce Penninsula can be quite treacherous in winter. Highways are offen closed so check before heading out. When you arrive, heavy snowfall and drifting may block access to the cottage. A shovel is provided so you can clear a path around the door. Other things to note We provide a full set of linens for the beds as well as towels for the bathroom. We provide essentials in the bathrooms such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap but we ask that you bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb. With regards to water, many people in Hope Bay drink the water directly from the Lake. However we cannot recommend it. It's up to you. We do provide a UV Filtration System, small tap in the kitchen. As well as a water cooler with one bottle ready to go for your stay. You can also purchase more water bottles as needed. The cooler takes 15l bottles. The closest grocery store is Lion's Head Foodland. it's about a ten minute drive north of us. Charcoal is often left by previous guests however it is best if you bring your own charcoal and BBQ lighter fluid. We do provide the barbecue and utensils. We do provide a fire pit in the back of the property. Firelogs can be provided by us at $10 per bag. Just let us know a week before you arrive if you want firewood. It will be left in the shed for you. Funds can be sent through Airbnb. Important to note if you are wanting to have a campfire, you must follow local fire restrictions. Our neighbour rents kayaks, fishing boat, and depending on availability, personal sea doos. Kayaks are $75 for a day, $50 for two days. Please talk to our neighbour to the east of us for more details.
