Il Mare Sospeso is a detached, original and unique stone house on the steep coast with breathtaking views of the sea in the middle of the Cinque Terre National Park. The space Il mare sospeso The stone house bears this name because the view of the sea gives you the feeling that "the sea is floating" here. It is an extraordinary house in the middle of the Cinque Terre National Park, an area that has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You are outside of normal civilization, as the house is located on one of the numerous hiking trails in the national park. Logistical prudence is required, as everything you need is also carried by you on foot from the parking lot to the accommodation. The stone house has its own style and is appreciated by nature lovers, hikers, sea lovers and people with a sense of the extraordinary. The stone house is a paradise by the sea surrounded by vineyards and maquis on the edge of the fishing and wine village of Schiara di Tramonti. Tramonti is called the area because the sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. The stone house is located in the 5 Terre National Park in the middle of nature. You are away from the typical tourist trails. The house is pure idyll and an adventure. This means that due to the location there is running water, you can cook comfortably with gas, on cold days you can light the fireplace with wood and get your electricity from the photovoltaic system on the roof. If the solar system is not sufficient, or you have used electricity-intensive devices, you will have to start the generator, which is located in the garden. Be mindful and economical and respect nature and resources. The path from La Spezia leads up and down the mountain via narrow serpentine roads and ends in the national park at a parking lot. From here you will hike through vineyards, over narrow and uneven paths and stone steps, always along the cliffs until you reach the village of Schiara di Tramonti after 10 minutes. The stone house is still above the village. Schiara is located on the slope of Tramonti between Riomaggiore and Portovenere at approx. 200 meters above sea level. The path through the village leads over hiking trails and stone stairs down to the sea. On the cliffs there are still ruins of old fishermen's houses. But you should be physically fit and not afraid of heights, because the stone stairs are of different heights and narrow. You will need 20 minutes for the descent and will be rewarded with a fantastic crystal clear water. The ascent, on the other hand, takes 3/4 of an hour. It's a breathtaking experience and you should try it, but only if you're athletic and physically fit. Guest access The stone house with the beautifully landscaped garden in the Mediterranean style is detached and is available to you alone. The terrace-shaped garden extends to the sea side, is surrounded by rosemary hedges, yellow chamomile bushes, vines, olives and fruit trees. The scent of the maquis and above all that of the lemon tree flood the garden. A pergola with hammock and loungers invites you to linger, an outdoor shower overlooking the sea cools you down on hot days. Around the stone house are several terraces and two pergolas, so you can sit in the shade and enjoy the amazing view of the sea. On the terrace with brick seating you have a beautiful view of the "Golfo dei Poeti" with the islands of Palmeria and Tinto. With good visibility you can see the Tuscan archipelago with the islands of Gorgona, Elba, Capraia to Corsica. In the evening, the lighthouse illuminates the island of Palmeria and mystically illuminates the sea and mountains. At night, you can admire the millions of stars and even the Milky Way with a clear view. In the recently renovated stone house, old and new were combined and this unique interior makes it so loving and cozy. The entrance leads directly into the kitchen, which was kept in the southern style. Beautiful ceramic dishes, colorful water glasses and a well-equipped kitchen make lovers' hearts beat faster. Hot water and hobs work with gas bottles outside the house. A wooden table with four chairs overlooks the sea. On cold days you can fire up the Swedish stove. The ground floor also has a small but practically furnished bathroom and a small hallway. On the first floor is the cozy living room with fireplace, couch, secretary and a sleeping area for two people. The bedroom is on the 2nd floor and is open to the living room. There is also a small toilet here. The double bed is suitable for adults due to the very comfortable mattresses, the sleeping area with simple mattresses is more suitable for children or adolescents. Other things to note This property is located in the 5Terre National Park, in a remote area, so it is highly recommended to arrive by car or motorcycle. Biassa is the nearest town by car, Campiglia can be reached on foot in 20 minutes. The road from La Spezia via Biassa is very winding and narrow and in the national park it then becomes much narrower and more winding. Your car should be suitable for these steep and narrow streets. The national park is generally only accessible by car to the residents of the house. If you park at the "Sotto i castani" parking lot, you can walk from there to the house in 10 minutes. Therefore, it is important to carry light luggage, preferably backpacks. The serpentine streets are not illuminated and there is no lighting on the hiking trails to the house. You should carry a flashlight or headlamp. The nearest grocery store is in the town of Biassa "A Butega," which is about 20 minutes by car from the parking lot. At the hiking rest area at the church of St. Antonio there is also a small kiosk along the street. At the "Telegrafo" there is a restaurant where you can taste typical products. In the village of Campiglia, which can only be reached on foot in 25 minutes, Manu runs a small bar and offers you groceries for daily needs. There are also three restaurants here. It has a beautiful view west of the sea and east of La Spezia and the sea. La Spezia is a port city and has a fantastic, typical weekly market with vegetables, fruits, fish, meat and pasta on offer on the working days and many supermarkets. The Carrefour Express supermarket is open from 7:30 am - 11:45 pm. Due to the secluded location of the house, it is advisable to go shopping before arrival. The main hiking trails may only be entered with sturdy and closed shoes. Open sandals or flip flops are prohibited and also not advisable. The path leads over hill and dale and should not be underestimated in terms of condition. The ascents and descents between the villages bring some altitude and lead to a large extent over uneven steps. Please remember to bring mosquito repellent from spring to autumn.
