Comfort camping in this spacious geodesic dome nestled on 22 acres of private land overlooking the breathtaking Creston Valley and bordering crown land. Note that this property is designed for a camping experience. Come prepared for the weather and mountain rocky terrain. The space Location: This large isolated location is minutes away from downtown Creston, Duck Lake, Kootenay Lake, Kootenay River and Goat River. An old logging road will descend you to a clearing on our mountain property (AWD/4x4 recommended). Adjacent to an endless public use forest (the entirety of Goat/Arrow mountain. Dome and area: Booking price includes first unit (geodesic dome, trailer, tent, or old cabin booking) Additional units/families are $50/night * Spacious geodesic dome. * 4 RV spots and additional tent spots. * Large screened gazebo for dining, games and relaxing. * Barbeque * Solar power bank will charge up your USB devices. * Quiet generator available upon request. * Large fire pit(with cooking grill), and gas pit available during summer fire bans. * Excellent cellular phone reception. * Outhouse has about the best view one could ask for. *Outdoor shower (unheated but great on a hot day) * A fun 9 hole disc golf course is built on the property. * Water jug / small sink for basic needs in the dome provided. Additional water access point provided. This spot is great for groups, but can be almost spiritual if enjoyed alone. Regardless of how many people you are, you will have the entire area to yourself. Note that to ensure the best experience possible, reservations are made to only one group at a time. If you want to feel like you are truly alone in the woods, this is the spot for you! Guest access This large isolated location is minutes away from downtown Creston, Duck Lake, Kootenay Lake, Kootenay River and Goat River. Accessing the Dome is an adventure in itself! Guests will drive up Foster Road, a well-maintained old logging road that winds through stunning mountain scenery. Parking is conveniently located at the top of the hill, and we’re happy to assist in transporting your belongings down to the dome if needed. From the main house, a 1-kilometer descent along another old logging road leads to a serene clearing nestled on our mountain property. For this stretch, an AWD or 4x4 vehicle is recommended to ensure a smooth ride. Once at the dome, you’ll find yourself adjacent to the vast public-use forest of Goat/Arrow Mountain—your gateway to endless exploration and tranquility. Other things to note * Note that this property is designed for a "glamping"/camping off-grid experience. The geodesic dome is not heated. While a small propane heater is provided, please come prepared for the weather. * High-clearance AWD vehicle recommended if you plan to drive down the old road to the location, otherwise please plan to park at the top and walk the 1km road to the bottom (we can help shuttle down your stuff). * Potable water will be provided, and delicious running water is available at the top of the property if you wish to fill your own containers or RV. * Proper footwear is highly recommended - hiking shoes/boots or closed toe shoes. You will be in the wilderness with lots of rocks and uneven surfaces around. We will kindly ask to sign an additional liability waiver. * Bear spray is provided in the dome. Please keep it with you if you are embarking on a hike. Although the encounters are extremely rare, you are in the bear country just as in any park and it is important to take precautions - keep the area clean of food. * During summer BC firebans, we are extremely careful about heat sources, and ask the same of you. * Lots of firewood to burn for free. * Barbeque provided. * Large screened gazebo in case of rain or bugs. * Outhouse (with a view!). * Dish/hand washing station. * Sleeping Arrangements: Queen size bed and a convertible single bed. The dome has space for additional sleeping arrangements (e.g. Air mattress or sleeping cots) - inquire in advance or bring your own. * Bathroom: Outhouse; Indoor shower and bathroom is available at the main house (10 min walk from the dome). * Entertainment: outdoor and board games, Wi-Fi, disc golf course * Outdoor Features: Dome Deck space, charging station, firepit, hammock, stargazing area House Rules * Keep the area free of litter - use provided garbage and recycling bins; * Pet policy - allowed, please let us know in advance. Safety * Fire extinguisher and first-aid kit in the dome * Flash lights are recommended for evening/night walking * Runners/hiking shoes are recommended - you are on the mountain and in the wilderness, the space has a lot of uneven terrain * Bear spray provided * Signed waiver will be required for all guests * Nearest hospital - Town of Creston (15 min away) Things to do in the area: Town of Creston and area amenities: * Mountain Barn (best donuts and baked goods) - 4 min * Nearest gas station, Tim Hortons, McDonalds - 6 min; *Hospital - 12 minutes * Grocery Stores - Save on Foods, Superstore * Creston Farmer’s market (every saturday) - local pottery, crafts, wines, produce, meats. * Creston Downtown Shops - 12-15 minutes * Fruit markets * Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area: Explore the wetlands with over 17,000 acres of protected habitat.
