Step into the elegance of Irton Manor, a stunning late Edwardian Arts and Crafts country house that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern living. Originally built in 1910, the manor retains its character with oak-panelled rooms and a beautiful stained glass window, elegantly set within an impressive grand staircase that showcases the home’s rich heritage. Sleeps up to 18 guests in total when the North Wing is included, based on all available beds being used. The space Irton Manor is a late Edwardian Arts and Crafts country house set within a private working estate just outside Scarborough. Perfect for extended family holidays or group gatherings, it blends period charm with modern comfort across beautifully restored interiors and scenic grounds. The Main House features 6 spacious bedrooms (4 en-suite) with a mix of king and twin beds, plus two additional sofa beds for flexibility. At its heart is a sleek Italian-designed kitchen and diner with a 65” smart TV and bi-fold doors leading out to the gardens – a bright and sociable space ideal for group meals or relaxed mornings. Unwind in the elegant orangery lounge, filled with natural light and centred around an 80” smart TV. The traditional drawing room offers a cosy retreat with books, board games and music, while the formal dining room seats 18 comfortably. For fun and entertainment, the games room has something for everyone – from pool and table tennis to darts, foosball and a retro arcade machine. The manor sleeps up to 12 guests in the main house. The North Wing is not included for smaller groups by default, but it can be opened if you’d like extra space and privacy. The North Wing includes three additional bedrooms, two bathrooms, a snug lounge and extra utility space, and is ideal for larger groups or families who would benefit from a bit of separation. For bookings of 13–16 guests, the North Wing is automatically included. Airbnb applies an additional per-guest charge, which you’ll see reflected in the price at checkout. Depending on your group size, not all North Wing bedrooms may be prepared, but there will always be enough rooms made up to comfortably accommodate everyone. For groups of fewer than 13 guests, the North Wing is not included. If you would like additional space, the North Wing (or part of it) can be opened at an extra cost. As Airbnb does not offer a simple “wing upgrade” option, this is quoted and added manually after you message us. For groups of 17–18 guests, please message us before booking. We’ll confirm availability and add the additional charge of £75 per person, per night, as Airbnb does not automatically handle pricing beyond 16 guests. If you’re unsure what would suit your group best, just get in touch and we’ll happily advise. The estate grounds offer plenty of unique areas to explore, with a mix of gardens, woodland and open spaces. The manor is beautifully and traditionally decorated for Christmas throughout December and into early January, creating a warm and festive atmosphere throughout the house. You’ll find three Christmas trees, a garland-draped staircase and classic outdoor lighting that brings a magical feel to the approach and courtyard. Please see the end of the photo tour. Guest access Guests have full private access to the entire Manor House, with the North Wing opened for groups over 12. No other guests or hosts occupy this wing when it's closed off. The stay includes private use of the heated indoor swimming pool, patio, and gardens, offering plenty of space to relax and explore. The only shared space is the FootGolf Activity Field, which is also available to guests staying at The Log Cabin, a separate holiday let on the estate. However, with six acres of open space, there’s plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. As a private working estate, groundskeeping and maintenance may take place during your stay. We have plenty of space and will do our best to stay out of your way, remaining discreet and flexible. Let us know if you have any preferences, and we’ll work around you to ensure minimal disruption. Other things to note This is a quiet retreat, and we ask guests to respect quiet hours after 10 PM, particularly outdoors. The estate is for guest accommodation only—events, parties, or additional visitors must be approved in advance. We kindly ask guests to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. The cleaning fee covers standard preparation for the next guests, rather than deep cleaning after excessive mess. If additional cleaning is required beyond usual expectations, an extra charge may apply.
