Description
Escape to our beautiful new home, built in a traditional style and nestled in a quiet village in the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spacious and welcoming, it features three double bedrooms, a study with a sofa bed, and modern comforts like underfloor heating and two bathrooms with heated towel rails. Cook in the fully-equipped kitchen, relax by the wood-burning stoves, or unwind on the patio overlooking a meadow and nature pond. Perfect for peaceful getaways. The space Welcome! We’re delighted to share our beloved family home with you when we’re not in the village. We've tried to make it tranquil and characterful by incorporating plenty of types of wood, including acacia, mango, pine and plenty of oak. The rustic interior doors were crafted locally in a traditional design from English oak. There’s step-free access from your car to the front door, and toilets upstairs and downstairs, but please note all the bedrooms are upstairs. The open-plan kitchen-dining area is airy and spacious, with a central island, induction hob, fan over, microwave and a wood-burning stove. It overlooks the garden and farmland beyond. The dining area has an oak dining table for six and a piano. The living room has its own wood-burning stove, cozy seating, shelves heaving with books for adults and children alike, and a television. The three bedrooms offer traditional gabled ceilings, ample storage, and beds (one king and two doubles) with medium-firm mattresses for resting weary muscles. Upstairs there’s also a study with lots of storage, a built-in desk, and swivel chair. It also features a daybed that can be converted to a fourth double bed (just let us know if you’d like it set up). Please note, even though there are enough beds for four couples, only six people are permitted to stay at a time. The family bathroom includes a freestanding bath with hand-held shower, as well as a walk-in "rain" shower. The master bedroom has an en-suite with an identical shower and its own toilet. Outside, the terrace has dining for six and outdoor charging sockets, perfect for relaxing or working al fresco. You’ll find a kitchen garden with fresh herbs and a lawn that gives way to a wildflower meadow and a nature pond, home to frogs, toads, and dragonflies. Wildlife is abundant, with birds like blue-tits, chaffinches, wrens, kestrels, buzzards and red kites often spotted, and occasional visits from deer, foxes, peregrine falcons and sparrowhawks. At night, listen for tawny and little owls. The garden evolves through the seasons, from snowdrops and aconites in winter, through daffodils and then bluebells in spring, to wallflowers, snapdragons and vibrant wildflowers in summer. We hope you’ll feel as at home here as we do whenever we're in the UK. Love, Benjamin, Amelia, and little Lucy. Guest access Guests have access to nearly all of the house, including everything you see in the photographs or read about in the description; about 232 sqm. There is one room and one cupboard that we keep locked for storing our personal effects. Please respect our privacy by not trying to enter those spaces. Welcome, guest! Other things to note Tetford is a beautiful peaceful village nestled in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the beautiful Snipe Dales Nature Reserve and Country Park. It has an Honesty Shop (Little London, delicious baked goods, open Friday - Sunday) and a pub (The White Hart Inn, East Road, open Sunday - Thursday). The nearby Yellow Belly Kitchen in Fulletby sells very good Indian food to eat at home on a pre-order and collect basis. The historic market towns of Horncastle, Spilsby, Louth and Alford are 12-17 minutes' drive away and all have shops including a butcher, baker, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and, naturally, fish and chips. Alford holds a wonderful craft market on the May and August Bank Holidays. Motor racing enthusiasts will find themselves 12 minutes' drive from the illustrious Cadwell Park circuit. Vitality and wellness practitioners will find themselves a two-minute walk from the Aura Soma academy. Ramblers and lovers of nature and the countryside are on the doorstep of many public footpaths as well as the welcoming South Ormsby Estate, which organizes a variety of guided walks with nature themes. Surfers, sunbathers and other beach goers are spoiled for local beaches, including the bustling Skegness and Mablethorpe or the tranquil Anderby Creek, Gibraltar Point, Sutton on Sea and Sandilands, all about half an hour's drive away. You'll be less than 50 minutes' drive from the castle and cathedral in historic city of Lincoln, so we're confident you'll find plenty to entertain yourselves during your stay.
