The Writer’s Cabin by Kabani, Wayanad

Situated in our farm by the Kabani river, the cabin is aptly placed for a thorough nature experience. Suitable for a couple, the cozy cottage is air conditioned and has one room with a balcony and a private bathroom. You will enjoy the variety in the farm and the thrill by the river. Could do some fishing too and explore the peaceful large paddy fields right opposite the farm. Kick back and relax in this stylish cabin! The space The Writer’s Cabin is a compact and cozy cabin carefully designed keeping in my all minor details to provide a comfortable and relaxed stay. It has air conditioning, a mini fridge, a kettle and hot water facilities. In our farm, we grow, coffee, pepper, nutmegs, areca nuts, coconuts including other spices, vegetables, fruits and rice. The farm is situated by the road, providing ease of access. Right across where we are is a 300 acre paddy farming collective, which provides year round occupation for the numerous tribal villages surrounding it. Walking through these fields and along the river on the village pathways gives a real world feel of the life and culture of Wayanad. The elaborate Kerala cuisine, the tribal traditions and local handicrafts add to the flavour of your stay here. Cabin is within a fenced 2 acre farm. You may leave aside worries of how secure the place is! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire farm and the surroundings, the river bank, walkways by the river and the paddy fields in the village, etc. Other things to note We serve home-cooked breakfast only between 0830 am and 10am. Lunch/dinner can be arranged on pre-order or else can be ordered from restaurants/local eateries nearby. Campfire & barbeque can be arranged, based on availability, at a nominal charge per night. This will include the setting up charges for the effort involved. [Food required for barbeque can be arranged on actual cost.] Campfire is charged at INR 800 for one hour. Setting up of Barbecue is charged at INR 800 for two hours plus additional charges based on the number of items and quantity.
