Relax lakeside at this 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage on Atwood Lake. Great fishing and beautiful sunsets make this family- and dog-friendly cottage a fun way to enjoy the outdoors in a peaceful setting. Close enough to enjoy nearby activities like Amish country in Shipshewana and the art/music scene in Ft Wayne, or slow down to savor nearby wineries and farm markets. That’s if you want to leave - the cottage offers puzzles, games, kayaks (3), a paddleboard (1), and fishing gear. The space This cozy cottage lives large with open spaces and outdoor places to relax or play. Camp Junebug, named after our daughter Charlotte June, was completely remodeled in 2024 when we bought the cottage to enjoy as a family. It is lovingly curated with new furnishings plus a few found items to help you feel right at home and comfortable to savor the nearby area or relax lakeside. Enjoy the lawn games and firepit outside or cards and board games inside. Cozy cottage year-round with amazing views of the snowy country and lake surroundings. We have a Queen bed in one bedroom and twin (stacked) beds in the other. There are extra pillows and bedding if you want to use the air mattress (in a water-tight storage container in the shed) for the living area. There is one full bath and an outdoor shower (available seasonally). The drop-leaf table seats six when extended. Or dine outside at the bistro table on the deck or the picnic table lakeside. The outdoor picnic table seats 6-8. We have bug-repelling rechargeable fans and citronella candles available for your outdoor use. Around the fire pit we have five Adirondack-style chairs and cozy outdoor blankets for those chilly evenings after the sun sets. Light the torches and settle in to stargaze - it is amazing! Outdoor cafe string lights and new landscaping coming this spring to further enhance the backyard. Kayaks (3), paddle board (1), rafts (2-3), life jackets (7 in varying sizes for kids and adults - even have one for your pup), large inflatable floating deck, fishing gear, fire pit, sunscreen and bug spray, games, cards, etc. are all available for your enjoyment. There is a MasterBuilt 800 gravity series grill (read: complicated) - so we ask that you do not use it unless you are familiar with this style of grill already. We have a simple Weber kettle-style grill available for guest use. It requires charcoal. Grilling tools and accessories are available. Please note there is no microwave, dishwasher, or washer/dryer. The water is filtered and we have a softener to help improve the taste and feel, but you may find bottled water is preferred. We have ice cube trays (no automatic ice maker). We like to keep it simple at the lake. If you want a little faster pace, boat rentals are available in the area with recommendations in our Guidebook. The boat dock is available for your use. Guest access The entire cottage is available to you. We have a few personal items of clothing and supplies stored in closets/bathroom drawers that we ask you do not use. The pantry items like spices, condiments, paper plates, cooking spray, coffee and filters, etc. are all available to our guests for use and convenience. Other things to note We charge a pet cleaning fee that is only assessed when your four-legged family travel with you.
