Welcome to this brand new private guest house in Middlebury, Indiana tucked quietly away in the heart of Amish country. Amen Corner offers the best of both worlds…modern amenities surrounded by nature’s beauty and amazing sunsets. - Enjoy a beverage on the back patio while watching birds or the neighboring horses - Cuddle up for your favorite series inside with bedroom & living room fireplaces - Peace and quiet can be found also if you’re looking to just relax and walk some of our trails The space Our guesthouse is tucked away on a separate 2.5 acres section of our property on what was once known as Sims Oak Hills golf course. *Winter Reservations* - we require all-wheel drive/4-wheel drive to access the property It’s a cozy 1 bed / 1 bath featuring comfortable modern amenities in a homey design. We’ve designed the interior to incorporate as much of the outside elements as possible. - Full kitchen for cooking meals - Outside shower (N/A with freezing temps) - Outdoor fire pit (firewood is provided) - Washer & dryer - Electric fireplaces in bedroom & main area Guest access You’ll have the entire house to yourself. Private property starts at chicken coop; guests are encouraged to walk on the mowed walking trails on the 2.5 acres immediately surrounding the guesthouse. Feel free to walk up and say hello to all the chickens; Guinness is the lone rooster these days Other things to note Driveway access: It is possible the “two track” driveway may be muddy at times. Vehicles with lower ground clearance may struggle. WATER: Amen Corner is on a NEW WELL and the water in our area is very high in iron, so the water may smell like iron and minerals or be tinted brown at times; it’s not harmful. Feel free to grab bottled water if the water bothers you for drinking. Privacy Expectation: Amen Corner is a private setting. However, we live and are active outdoors on our property adjacent to Amen Corner. You may see us out and about maintaining the property or caring for our dogs and chickens during the day. A Note on Nature & Utilities We love our location for its peaceful/rural setting, but being closer to nature means that severe weather can occasionally cause temporary power outages in the area, we have a gas backup generator that we will use if power goes out. In the case of loss of power, you will be not without power at the guesthouse. If generator is up and running the only appliance you cannot use is the range.
