The Goldfinch accommodates a family of four, or two couples, with a fully equipped kitchen, grilling facilities, and tranquil farm and mountain views. The centrally located farm is pet-friendly and offers overnight equine facilities. The space Great opportunity to unplug and reconnect with family and nature in the splendor of Bath County! The Goldfinch Cabin (named for an abundance of the brightly feathered birds that call Turtle Brook home) features a large, rustic front porch overlooking the intimate Turtle Brook valley and Cobbler Mountain. The many hiking trails and old logging roads on Cobbler are easily accessible from the cabin's back door and include access to the national forest for both hikers and riders. Or take an easy walk along the property's babbling brook or enjoy a picnic lunch at Dragonfly Pond, which is nestled in Cobbler Mountain's foothill a short walk from the cabin. Family friendly cabin accommodations include a queen bed in a main bedroom and a full futon in the living area. Guests can enjoy complimentary coffee and tea from either of the cabin's two covered porches. Plenty of outdoor seating and a hammock invite guests to relax in the sunshine while listening to the farm's horses munching grass in a nearby paddock. Reading materials are available in the cabin, or partake in a good-natured game of horse shoes. Guests can enjoy a homecooked meal prepared in the complete kitchen or opt for grilled cuisine on the outdoor grill. After dinner, take in the immensity of the star-filled sky while enjoying s'mores around your campfire (wood is provided). Access to technology is limited. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Equine accommodations consist of two run-in sheds with designated corral systems. Water on site. Trails are available on property. Easy access from Turtlebrook Farm to other trail systems in the county. Guests are welcome to interact with the farm's four horses. The Warm Springs Pools are 2 miles by car. Fly fishing at Virginia's premier Jackson River is 5 miles away. Lake Moomaw and Douthat Lake are an easy drive.
