The Rusty Box is a very unique and eclectic stay in North Georgia. Just 6.6 miles from Clayton, Ga, it's conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, and tons of outdoor activities such as hiking at Tallulah Falls. Cozy space for one or two. Enjoy 700 sq ft of loft style living, with all the modern amenities you need. Part of the year you will have long range mountain views, while part of the year you will feel like you are in a treehouse surrounded by green or fall color foliage. The space The home was originally used as a mechanic's shop many years ago, and is a structure called a "Pole House". Meaning the structure's foundation consists of telephone poles buried deep into the Earth (This structure also has a partial concrete foundation). So, we had a lot of fun creating an eclectic and different living space, repurposing the structure. We replaced the roof, used the old, rusted roofing materials as the new siding. Thus, the name, The Rusty Box on Bogg's Mountain. The house is not perfect, but a lot of love and work went into it to create a very comfortable living space with lots of beautiful views, close to Clayton, GA (approx 6.5 miles). When you get back to the home after a day of adventure, be sure to sit in the message chair to help relax. Sit in the private courtyard in the mornings to have your coffee, or at the firepit in the evening wrapped in a blanket. The home is just up the road from the Chota Falls Wedding Venue, and just minutes from the Rabun County Arena. There is plenty of hiking, white-water rafting, kayaking and other outdoor activities nearby. As well as wonderful shops and places to eat in Clayton, GA and other nearby towns such as Dillard and Mountain City. The house sits atop Bogg's Mountain. It is in a neighborhood, however, the way the property is situated you feel very private inside and most of the outdoor area as well. This stay is definitely better than glamping, and a lot more privacy than a hotel can provide. So, if you are looking for a fun, unique and quirky place to stay - then the Rusty Box on Bogg's is the place for you. Dogs are welcome, up to 2. Pet fee is $20 per pet per stay. We are under a strict county ordinance, so please be respectful of the neighbors and our town. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE, violations of city ordinance or quiet hours will result in removal from the home. Guest access The home has a keyless entry. You will be provided a code for the front door 48 to 24 hours prior to your arrival. When you get to the home, enter the code provided and then turn the deadbolt knob to the left to unlock, When leaving, to lock the front door, push the "Schlage" button at the top, and then turn the deadbolt knob to the right.
