The space Welcome to this charming A-Frame style cabin nestled in the heart of the Sequoia National Forest/Giant Sequoia National Monument in Camp Nelson, Ca. Camp Nelson is a small, serene and scenic mountain town close to hiking trails, rivers, creeks and giant sequoias. We are 10min from the Nelson Trail and within 35min of the Trail of 100 Giants and Dome Rock. And a 7 min walk to the Tule River. *While Sequoia National Forest is adjacent to Sequoia National Park. Camp Nelson is 1hr44min south of the entrance to Sequoia National Park. *****Outdoor Amenities:***** - Breathtaking unobstructed views of Sequoia National Forest & Slate Mountain. -Upper Level: Large wrap-around Redwood Deck with outdoor living seating set, Propane Fire Dining Table with seating for 6. Santa Maria style charcoal BBQ grill & a Nexgrill 4 burner propane BBQ grill . - Middle Level: Gas fire pit area perfect for making s'mores and stargazing. - Lower Level: Picnic table & Kids will love the playhouse/fort with a slide and tree swing. -Forest wildlife frequent the area, so don't be surprised if you get a visit from the local deer & other forest birds and animals. *****Living Area:***** - Comfortable stylish furniture and an indoor wood-burning fireplace and stove create a cozy atmosphere. -Mini Split AC/Heat in living room. - Enjoy a variety of books and games including corn hole, Jenga, Uno Spin, chess, checkers, Connect Four, Candyland, and poker. *****Kitchen:***** - Fully equipped with a waffle maker, air fryer, toaster, refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, Kitchenaid induction cooktop range & Kitchenaid dishwasher. Other things to note -Winter season note* 1. During the winter season highway 190 access to Trail of 100 Giants and other trails may not be available due to snow closure. 2. Highway 190 is snow plowed daily during winter months up to Ponderosa. However snow chains or 4x4 may be required at anytime. 3. Driveway to cabin is steep and fresh snow or ice may impede entrance or exit despite our efforts to keep it clear. A snow shovel will be available by the BBQ in the event it is needed. 4. The cabin is equipped with a mini split AC/heat in the living/dining area only. Bedrooms have space heaters and heated mattress pads. 5. There is a fireplace and wood burning stove for additional heat source if needed. 6. These winter conditions may not be for everyone. We welcome those who are ready for the adventure.
