Dorothy Our House on the Prairie

Comfortable home in Ashland. Near gas, food and all services. 4 dog pens, ideal for bird hunters. It is our home for 6 months a year, so it has all the necessities. The space "Dorothy" is our quaint and comfortable home on the Prairie. We are from Maine but have lived here 6 months a year for almost 20 years. Ashland is a terrific small town that has everything you need within one square mile. Downtown is 1/2 mile away. The hospital is 1/4 mile away. The Ashland Veterinary center is right behind us as well as the school buildings and golf course. Our property is over an acre and is 1/2 the entire block with the local country store and gas station taking up the other half block. The pizza parlor is just across the street from that. Our four 10' x 10' and larger dog pens have been very useful for keeping our dogs and our hunters' dogs often times as well. (We ran a wild quail hunting service for the 19 years here) and have just retired. We have front and rear porch lights, a spotlight off the back of the kitchen and one in front of the garage (garage is not accessible to guests). The street lights give off plenty of light for navigating at night, as well. We have a drive-through driveway with plenty of parking on the gravel drive. Because we live here, too, we are well stocked with more than the minimal cooking supplies and utensils. Dorothy is an antique gem that we have tried to maintain the historical character while making her comfortable and convenient.
