Construction trailer in the garden On the heights of the Hunsrück, the construction trailer is in our garden overlooking fields, forest and sunset. From here you can walk on hiking trails to the Moselle or the Rhine. The construction trailer has a bed, small kitchen and a wood stove. It's 100 steps to the shower and 200 to the toilet! The space The accommodation is a small construction trailer, there is no running water there, there is a 10 liter canister that can be filled with fresh water in the bathhouse. (Not quite as far as in Africa, where people have to walk for miles) Under the construction trailer there is a cooler that can be kept cold with cooling batteries. The path to the shower goes through the garden and may not be suitable for everyone, and the toilet is even further away. To flush the toilet, we use buckets that are filled with rainwater or washing machine water. (our small contribution to raising awareness of how much drinking water we flush down the toilet) Since all these buildings are located directly in the garden, you have to expect dust and garden remnants in the rooms every now and then. Leaves, small branches and insects are such side effects. We make an effort and sweep and vacuum and wipe ........ Guest access You can use our bathhouse, there is a water connection to fill the water canister for the construction trailer. And there is a shower that you can also use. Over the years, we have become very mindful and economical with water consumption and therefore collect almost every drop. The outdoor toilet is of course also there for shared use. There we rinse with rainwater if there is any or washing machine wastewater which we collect in buckets. Other things to note When you arrive at our place at Eck 2, you are in front of the house. The path to the construction trailer goes 200 meters through the garden. There is also a parking space where the construction trailer is located. When you arrive at our place, you can park in the long driveway first. Then you pass the house (painted red and green) and you come to the garden. Just a few meters to the left of the house is the outdoor toilet, it is under a cherry tree. There are buckets in front of it, which are filled with rainwater, which are used for flushing the toilet. To do this, fold up the toilet seat and then empty the bucket and refill it. This is done in the zinc tub just around the corner from the toilet house. From there, continue about 40 meters until you see the bath-sauna house on the left. There's your chance to take a shower. The shower is with an instantaneous water heater...... if it works sparingly but nicely hot. In the bucket in the shower we collect the first cold water, for flowers, etc. From there, continue past the greenhouse. Then comes our workshop, our summer living room and then you will see a larger circus wagon on the left. But leave it on the left. From here, another 80 meters through the garden to the construction trailer. There is some coffee and tea and in front of the door is a cooler where I can put ice packs. But it's not that warm right now. Now you can open the wooden gate at the end of the garden and park your car right there. You can walk back. From the gate to the left, next street again left, everything straight until you arrive at your car.
