Welcome to “miles away.” Built originally in 1947, our newly renovated 2-bedroom & 1-bathroom home in Carmel-by-the-Sea honors its history and design character and brings a modern element creating a light-filled, warm, and cozy space to connect with friends & family, or enjoy a slower life. You’re a 15-minute walk to Carmel Beach, restaurants, shops and galleries in downtown. A short drive to Big Sur, 17 Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, Point Lobos, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel Valley, and Seaside. The space * LIVING SPACE * This charming two-bedroom and one-bathroom home sleeps up to 4 guests. The wide-open common space of the kitchen, living and dining rooms is centered by an original brick fireplace and has a cathedral exposed wood beam ceiling with skylights. It's flooded with natural light and views of the redwood, oak, and pine tree canopy. * KITCHEN & DINING * The fully equipped kitchen with a large island for gathering comes with all new LG refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, oven, and dishwasher. Moccamaster drip coffee maker, Frieling french press, Fellow electric kettle, toaster, and all the essential Calphalon and Made-In cookware, Emile Henry ceramic bakeware, basic utensils, flatware, and tableware are also provided. Coffee & tea too. Kitchen countertops are leathered Nacarado quartzite, a natural stone known for its stunning colors and patterns. The leathering process allows one to feel the natural grains of the stone. Share memorable meals and conversations in the corner kitchen booth that doubles as a workspace. There are also 4 bar top seats around the kitchen island. The kitchen faces West capturing the last rays of the sunset and connects to a back outdoor deck with a U-shaped bench surrounding a gas fire pit. The formal dining room is connected to the kitchen and living room. A record player with Bluetooth-enabled speakers is provided for your musical enjoyment, along with a Smart Fire TV. * TWO BEDROOMS * Our home comfortably sleeps a total of 4 guests in two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a Keetsa mattress and premium Parachute Home organic cotton bedding and sheets for elevated comfort. Both bedrooms have top/down window shades for privacy and feature artwork from our favorite local shop, Tancredi & Morgen. Iron & ironing board are also provided. ​— Sunrise Bedroom #1: one queen bed with french doors that open to the front garden patio. — Sunset Bedroom #2: one queen bed with a cathedral exposed wood beam ceiling with a skylight overlooking the forest canopy. * ONE BATHROOM * One full bathroom is a light filled space with penny tile, a spacious shower with an overhead skylight, and a leathered Nacarado quartzite vanity. Mi & Gei hardware and premium Parachute Home organic cotton towels. Shampoo/conditioner/body and hand wash, a hair dryer and make-up remover washcloths are also provided. * OUTDOOR PATIO * An expansive front patio area faces East and receives the morning sunshine with scents from our lavender and rosemary garden. Enjoy breakfast or lunch on the HAY Palissade outdoor dining table and chairs while listening to the local blue jays and woodpeckers. Additional lounge chairs make this space comfortable and relaxing. * PARKING & SECURITY​ * Our driveway can accommodate up to 2 vehicles. We have an exterior security camera installed on the driveway for your safety and peace of mind, and to ensure only registered guests are on the property. * PET FRIENDLY * Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval and an additional $95 per pet fee (plus applicable fees & taxes). Up to two dogs (50 pounds or less) per stay. Two dog bowls are provided for their use upon arrival, but please pack bedding for your fur babies. No other types of pets or animals are authorized. Please abide by our pet rules and guidelines found in our House Rules and Short Term Vacation Rental Agreement to ensure the safety of your pets and our home. * GUEST ACCESS * Self check-in with key code. Check-in: 4:00 PM Check-out: 10:00 AM Early check-in or late check-out requests may require an additional fee and at least 24-hour notice (prior to arrival/departure) and may not always be possible as it depends on availability. Owner may access and occupy an attached separate space with a separate entrance from time to time for maintenance and upkeep of property. The entry to the locked off space is private and separate from guests’ main entrance. * SUITABILITY * The property is on a slope and has 14 steps to enter the home. * QUIET HOURS 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM * This home is in a residential neighborhood. Any noise during quiet hours is not permitted. Noise must be kept to a minimum, as to not disturb the neighbors at any time. * ADD-ON LAUNDRY FEE * Use of our washer & dryer is available for an additional fee of $25 with a minimum commitment of a 4-night stay. This fee is an add-on and not included in the nightly rate. To ensure preparation before your arrival, requests should be made 48 hours in advance if you wish to utilize our laundry room. This is a non-refundable fee, regardless of changes to your stay, user error, or improper use.  * SHORT TERM VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT * By making this reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and will comply with all House Rules. This agreement is in effect from the moment your booking of the property is confirmed. * MINIMUM AGE * You must be at least 25 years old to book this property. Photo ID may be required at check-in. Other things to note - Free Wi-Fi. - Smart Fire TV. - Central Heat. No Air Conditioning. - NO smoking & vaping on the entire property (damage fees apply). - NO events, parties, or large gatherings. Only registered guests and their pre-approved pets. No unauthorized guests allowed. - No microwave. - No BBQ. - Washer/Dryer available for an additional non-refundable fee of $25, 4-night minimum stay. Requests should be made 48 hours in advance. - Dogs are not allowed to be left on the property unattended.
