Welcome to the Stone House, a magnificent Italianate mansion at the hub of Sharon Springs hospitality since the 1850s. As part of the original Pavilion Hotel complex, the Stone House served as both a private summer residence and an opulent entertainment venue for the Pavilion’s celebrity guestlist. Today, the Stone House retains all of its grand-but-welcoming Gilded Age charm, its setting an inspiration to those who appreciate the beautiful, the natural, the historic, the unforgotten. The space This listing is for the Stone House's Master Suite: a 17' x 18' bedroom with sitting area and walk-in closet, plus connected 11' x 11' private bath. Beyond are myriad living areas, both indoor and out: we invite you to socialize in the richly-decorated Victorian parlor, enjoy refreshments on the colonnaded porch, gaze for miles across the Mohawk Valley to the Adirondacks, read (or write!) a novel, paint a masterpiece, watch baby fawns frolic in the yard, or explore the former Pavilion Hotel site. You're welcome to cook in our well-equipped country kitchen—and then to feast in the formal dining room, which comfortably seats ten. Further afield, explore our charming village, visit the Baseball Hall of Fame in neighboring Cooperstown, attend the nearby Glimmerglass Opera Festival, or ski at more than a dozen mountains (including Hunter, Windham, and Gore) within a 90-minute drive.
