Barnhouse is a peaceful rustic cottage built from shipping containers in Kentmere, Tigoni—just 25 minutes from Village Market. Set in the outskirts of Ladywood Farm, it's ideal for couples, friends, and families. Unwind in our wellness garden featuring a sauna, steam bath, and outdoor cold-plunge jacuzzi. Private tea trails & restaurants are within walking distance, guests enjoy complimentary access to Twin Rivers Park for waterfall/riverside walks & picnics, ziplining, sky cycling, and more. The space Barnhouse Cottage is a peaceful countryside retreat tucked away in a private corner of our family compound in Tigoni's tea highlands. At its heart is a secluded wellness corner/garden where guests can slow down and recharge with a sauna, steam bath, and outdoor cold-plunge jacuzzi (not heated). Surrounded by trees, birdsong, and fresh highland air, it's a simple space to unwind after a walk through the tea fields or a day exploring Tigoni. Built entirely from repurposed shipping containers, the cottage blends rustic textures with modern comforts and an easy indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Large windows bring in natural light throughout the day, while the sunroom dining area, outdoor porch, and secluded garden space creates plenty of spots to read, share a meal, have an evening bonfire or simply do nothing at all. The cottage accommodates up to six (6) guests across three (3) bedrooms with queen beds, orthopeadic mattresses and quality linen. The master bedroom is ensuite and includes a dedicated workspace and reading nook, while the other two bedrooms share a spacious bathroom. A fully equipped indoor kitchen and a smaller outdoor kitchen make longer stays comfortable, whether you're preparing a simple breakfast, hungry mans brunch or cooking a family meal together in the evening. You'll have access to high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, a Smart TV with streaming services, complimentary tea and coffee, reliable 24-hour backup power, and attentive on-site staff who help ensure a seamless stay. For stays longer than two nights, housekeeping is provided every two days with fresh linen, towels, and replenished essentials. Just outside the gate, a quiet private road winds through tea farms, offering beautiful sunrise and sunset walks. Guests also enjoy complimentary access to Twin Rivers Park for riverside walks, waterfalls, picnics, and outdoor activities. Guest access Guests have access to the entire compound including the gardens. Other things to note Barnhouse is located within a quiet residential neighbourhood where residents value the peaceful countryside setting. We kindly ask guests to observe the neighbourhood's quiet hours from 7:00pm onwards. Loud music, parties, fireworks and other activities that may disturb neighbours are not permitted. As our guest, you'll enjoy complimentary access to Twin Rivers Adventure & Games Park, where you can explore scenic tea-farm and riverside trails, waterfall walks, picnic spots and a range of optional paid activities including zip-lining, quad biking and outdoor games. The wellness garden, featuring the sauna, steam bath and outdoor cold-plunge jacuzzi, is available exclusively to registered guests. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, guests are required to review and agree to the wellness space guidelines provided at check-in before using these facilities. Fig & Olive is just a short walk or three-minute drive away and is a favourite for relaxed breakfasts and lunches (please make advance reservations for Saturday/Sunday visits. Como Tigoni offers one of the area's most memorable dining experiences and is about 15 minutes away by car. Nifty Café and Muna Tree Café at Brackenhurst are also within easy driving distance and well worth a visit during your stay.
