Bessie, our retro horse lorry

Bessie is the perfect getaway tailored for couples to enjoy the tranquil surrounding countryside with lovely walks and great cycling along the towpath of the adjacent Kennet & Avon Canal. Two pubs are within a short stroll for a leisurely lunch or evening out and on the way past why not pop in and say hi to our sociable pygmy goats. Explore the may pretty villages nearby, the beautiful city of Bath is only 16 miles distant and prehistoric wonders such as Stonehenge and Avebury are close by. The space A converted horse lorry where you can escape into a charming retro haven where original features meet modern comfort. Bessie has been lovingly restored and transformed to capture a retro feel whilst preserving as many of the lorry's original features as possible. Stepping inside through the double opening doors located on the original unloading ramp you will find a cosy open plan living space which includes a kitchenette featuring a fridge/freezer, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and ceramic hob. A mini oven or microwave is available on request. A comfortable sofa converts into a double bed and sliding doors lead to a raised deck furnished with a bistro table and chairs - ideal for enjoying a coffee and taking in the rural views over neighbouring farmland. Bessie boasts a contemporary shower room complete with full-size shower, toilet and wash hand basin. In addition to your exclusive deck and lawn that surrounds it you are welcome the shared front paddock which basks in the evening sun and also visit the five friendly and inquisitive pygmy goats. We are happy to welcome one small/medium sized dog, however please note that there are often cattle grazing in the field directly behind and we have a variety of wildlife including deer surrounding us so dogs must be kept under control at all times. Guest access Guests have their private balcony and separate lawn surrounding Bessie with BBQ , firepit and picnic bench. Guests are free to roam on our adjoining secluded paddocks and take a picnic in perfect privacy.
