Charming house close to heart of Bryn Mawr village on a quiet residential street. Villa Nova, Bryn Mawr, Rosemont and Haverford Colleges all within a 1-mile radius. Fine shops, restaurants, yoga studios and an arts movie theater all within a comfortable walking distance. Mom's Organic Market, home-made ice-cream store and a pizza shop within 5 mns walk. SEPTA trains and bus service nearby - Philly is 27 mins away by train ($5-), 12 mls by car. A great alternative to 2 hotel rooms! *In accordance with the COVID-19 protocols, we are making sure that all surfaces in our house such as counters, doorknobs, faucets, etc., are wiped down with a disinfectant between guest stays and we will have a hand sanitizer available on kitchen counter. * Our 3-bedroom twin home, built in 1900 features many of original architectural details from the period. Enjoy our oak floors, front porch w/swinging bench & back deck w/grill overlooking the rear garden. Each of our 3 bedrooms has a comfortable queen size bed: rear bedroom, larger front bedroom and the renovated 3rd flr space (quietest room). The single futon in front room can be easily positioned anywhere on 2nd floor. Window units provide a/c (modern, quiet, remote-controlled) - remote-controlled ceiling fan in kitchen and front bedroom. Kitchen is fully equipped - chefs will be hard-pressed to find anything missing! Full-size refrigerator w/bottom freezer. Large flat-screen Smart TV with Apple TV in living-room and WI-FI throughout the house. New user-friendly thermostat for heating (located in D/R). French doors off kitchen open onto rear deck with outdoor seating, table and shade umbrella - lovely space for breakfast in summer. Electric outdoor grill for BBQ.. Guest Access: Front door is keyless entry. You will have the privacy of this home all to yourself. Interaction with Guests: We are available by mobile phone any time during your stay. We'd love to share what we know about the neighborhood: good food, coffee shops, shopping, parks, gardens, etc. The Neighborhood: Bryn Mawr is located on The Main Line, an older suburb of Philadelphia. Our house is on a quiet street within walking distance to the center of Bryn Mawr, with numerous shops, restaurants and all the usual amenities in our neighborhood. Center city Philadelphia is approx 12 miles away, by car or SEPTA train. Close to several colleges and universities: Villanova, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, St Joe's, Harcum, Cabrini, Eastern, Rosemont, Swarthmore, Immaculata, Gwynedd-Mercy, Arcadia, Chestnut Hill, Penn, Drexel, Phila Univ, La Salle... All of the house and garden except for obvious owner storage areas. We (your hosts) may or may not be here when you arrive but you will have our mobile # if you need anything at all during your stay. Please don't hesitate to call... Everything you may need is probably within a 15 mins walk...even an ice-cream store! Restaurants: There are so many within walking distance I recommend opening the Yelp app for Bryn Mawr (or Trip Advisor, Open Table) and searching from there. BYOB's restaurants are very popular in PA due to state regulations. Walk to the state liquor store 5 mns from house, grab some vino and head off to one of many popular BYOB's in the area. Recommended: Lourdas, Fraschetta. Mexican: Qdobo right around the corner. Snap Custom Pizza across the street from Qdobo. Coffee Shops: La Colombe coffee next to Fire Station also sells terrific sandwiches and pastries. Pub grub: Gulliftys (a local sports bar), The Grog. Center of Village: Bryn Mawr Movie Theater (entrance/foyer restored to its former Art Deco glory) Bryn Mawr Farmers Market (open Saturdays 9 to 1 in the summer), located across from the Post Office and train station. Acme Supermarket (newly renovated) is 0.6 mls away eastward on Lancaster Ave (Rte 30). Bryn Mawr Hospital 1/2 mile away. The King of Prussia Mall is 20 mins drive from the house. Valley Forge National Park is a 20 mns drive. The local train station (Rosemont) is about a 5 mins walk from the house and will take you directly into the city of Philadelphia - about a 30 mins ride. You can also catch the same train from the center of Bryn Mawr next to the Post Office - about a 12 mins walk from the house. The Norristown high-speed train line, about a 10 mins walk from the house, goes towards the King of Prussia Mall to Norristown. There's also SEPTA bus service which runs along Lancaster Ave (Rte 30) one block from the house. PARKING - 3 options: Park inside detached garage at end of rear garden - access through alley, walk up to enter house through rear French doors. If needed, a second car can be parked in front of garage on apron (see photos). Free parking is restricted to 1 hr on our street Rees Ave (Mon-Sat 8am-8pm, no limit Sundays & Holidays), 2 hr free parking on adjoining streets. Complimentary SmartCard available for long-term meter parking - there's a parking lot w/12 hr meters 1/2 block from house next to SNAP Pizza.
