The Den

Set in the bush birdsong will be your friend. Local birdlife includes Tūī, Kererū, Fantail, Woodpecker, Ruru and occasionally kiwi. Walk to bush tracks within minutes, a safe beach in 7 minutes or a short drive around the bays to cafes and more beaches. Take the ferry across to Mātiu/Somes Island, or into Queens Wharf for some city action. Access to Wellington city is a 20 minute drive, a bus, train or ferry ride away. Kitesurfing, mountain biking, windsurfing and surfing all on your doorstep. The space Welcome to your home away from home! This cosy little studio flat with fantastic bush views is perfect for a weekend getaway or a mid week hideout for business travellers. It is is ideal for couples or solo travellers looking to explore all that Eastbourne/Wellington has to offer. The Den offers modern comforts with a touch of local charm. It has a car deck for guest parking which is a few steps to the private entrance of the Den. It is located on the Eastern side of the Wellington Harbour away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The location is mainly bush so a lot of birdlife can be heard and seen in the area. Tuis, local birds, occasionally like to dive bomb you or fly very close when they are active in the early morning and evening. There is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle and small fridge; a television with some Apps installed, fast wifi for remote working or streaming, a wardrobe and chest of drawers so you can fully unpack and relax. This is a good location for access to cycleways, mountain biking tracks, bush walks and a good kite surfing beach when a southerly wind prevails. It can be stunning and calm, and occasionally a bit windy. It is in Wellington after all! Buses, ferries and trains connect you to Eastbourne Village, Lower Hutt City and Wellington. Details on this are included in the welcome pack when you arrive. Guest access You will have private access to the whole studio flat with free car parking on the property at street level. You will enjoy an ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette that has crockery, cutlery, glasses and some other amenities for you to enjoy your stay. Freshly ground coffee and milk will be provided when you arrive. I live on the site but further down the hill from the Den so your space is completely private. Other things to note I am happy to provide beach towels, extra blankets or swap out the single armchair for two directors chairs.
