The space Starbath retreat is a private, off-grid retreat made up of three design-led cabins, connected by a covered outdoor deck and nestled in lush native rainforest. Just four minutes from Oakura Beach, a popular local surf spot, and the village, where you’ll find several great cafés, restaurants and a 4 Square supermarket. It’s an ideal base for swimming, surfing, or grabbing brunch all while returning to the peace and privacy of the bush. Sleeping/Living Cabin: A cosy, light-filled space with a plush queen-sized bed, wood-burning fireplace, comfortable lounge seating, and large windows overlooking the forest canopy. Ideal for slow mornings, afternoon naps, or unwinding by the fire after a beach day. Kitchen Cabin: A fully equipped, standalone kitchen with outdoor gas cooking, filtered rainwater and all the main cooking utensils needed. Surrounded by trees and flooded with natural light. Bathroom Cabin: Designed for comfort and privacy, the bathroom cabin is divided into two rooms:A Shower Room with gas powered hot shower with full water pressure. Toilet Room with a modern, odour-free composting toilet with a hand basin, mirror, and eco-friendly design. Outdoor Spaces: - A large covered deck for outdoor dining and cooking. - A two-person outdoor bath set among native bush — ideal for stargazing - Firepit with log seating - Outdoor chairs and tables for morning coffee or evening wine - Surrounded by rainforest with no neighbours in sight Starbath retreat runs entirely on solar power and filtered rainwater. It’s a low-impact, sustainable stay designed for comfort. Please be mindful of your water use and avoid bringing high-draw electronics (e.g. hairdryers, coffee machines, or portable heaters), as they may exceed the solar system’s limits. There is no wifi and limited mobile reception — the perfect setting to fully unplug, slow down, and reconnect with nature. Guest access You will have access to the entire property.
