To do so, we sort our garbage into 3 different bins. Garbage pick up is Wednesday mornings so the bins should be placed on the curbside by Tuesday evening. Green is for compost: food scraps and soiled paper Blue is for recycling: clean glass and clean hard plastic containers Grey bin: landfill, all other garbage that you are unclear about I suggest you sort the garbage in the kitchen into the different bins provided. It's much easier to sort when you're about to throw out your garbage than afterwards when it's all mixed together. Use a brown paper bag or green compost bag (a roll is above the utility sink in the garage) for the food scraps, egg shells, and soiled paper towels, napkins and tissue Use one of the plastic bins in the pull out garbage drawer in kitchen for your clean glass, plastic water bottles and plastic containers Use the white plastic garbage bag (under the kitchen sink) for the rest of the garbage. DO NOT PLACE THIN CELLOPHANE PLASTIC IN RECYCLING OR COMPOST If you have questions, please send me a photo and I will answer where to place the item. Recology fines $500 per occurrence for placing your garbage items in the incorrect bin. Registration Details STR-0007565
