Hemp home on the hill

Our home is the product of combining recycled building materials, hempcrete and the enthusiasm and dedication from a couple who wanted to build their own home. Our space provides off-grid living with privacy, serenity and the comforts when you need them. In a central location for exploring, our place is your next homebase for a South Coast journey. We have thought and considered all guests and want to make your stay a personalised experience. We think you'll remember it. The space Enjoy the views towards the mountains and Moruya Heads from our recently built Hempcrete, off-grid home. We have combined a collection of recycled building materials, old school furniture and earthy tones to make our simple sustainable design feel very homely. The large glass panels provide absorbing outlooks in all direction while the 19 acres provide complete privacy from neighbours. The partially cleared bush block gives you a sense of remoteness while it’s only 4 kms from the conveniences of Moruya. We are central to all the best activities in the area yet it’s also so comfortable on the hill to not need to go anywhere. At our place you can wander the bush tracks, see local wildlife, use the rustic outdoor gym, pick produce from the garden, sit around the fire pit and gaze at the moonrise through the trees. If you want to work or catch up on the most recent series, we have unlimited WiFi and Netflix/Kayo/Prime subscriptions. We’ve lived in the area for 12 years, so we have plenty of recommendations of local experiences to help make your stay personalised. We built and have been living in our home for just over 2 years. We have shared our space with family and friends and enjoyed many special occasions on our hill. We think it’s now ready to be shared with you. Guest access The entire house except one small storage room is available for guest access. The majority of the 19 acre property is for your use. The shed and cabin will be locked. We appreciate you will want your own privacy, however we will be available to help anytime shall you need it. We have additional accommodation for other guests if you require. These are renovated caravans which are close to our home and have been perfect for our teenage nieces/nephews. They won’t be rented to other guests other than your group. We can discuss if you need. We won’t host big parties or groups more than 8. Our place has been built with accessibility in mind. We have wide hallways, bathroom and no step access all around. The house is on a flattish area, although the rest of the block embraces gravity.   Other things to note We are on tank water so please be mindful of water use. With this is mind we think you’ll love the view from the shower or bath. Firewood is provided for the indoor wood fire and the outdoor fire pit. There is unlimited parking close to home. Bring your boat, bike trailer or additional vehicle. Easy flat parking close to home. We live off grid with the exception of needing bottled LPG for cooking and hot water. We have a purpose designed small solar system to accommodate your power needs. We have the appliances you need (air conditioner, ceiling fans, kettle, toaster, air fryer, rice cooker, etc..) but ask you use during the solar hours or respectfully. We have a generator back up for when the weather is out of our hands. We do provide unlimited charging to E-bikes / E-foils – we will use the generator to make your holiday how it should be! The last 200 metre section of our driveway is often a talking point. You will cross some of the famous Moruya granite (used in the pillars of Sydney Harbour Bridge) and bounce around a little in the process. It’s 2WD access and when driven slowly there should be no issues. We want our place to be your homebase when you visit the area while also being a recharge location for you to unwind, relax and reconnect to the important things in your life.
