The space We can’t wait to welcome you to the ‘Sweet By & By’ an original 1880’s timber church, in the centre of Tumbarumba. This quintessential Australian country town, allows time here to blissfully slide by at a slower pace. Beyond the open plan living area, swathed in linen curtaining, is your sumptuous king-sized bed. You’ll be snuggling under a premium feather down quilt and the loveliest luxury linens for a peaceful sleep. Mornings here are a delight, savour your espresso coffee, let yourself linger in bed and watch the gorgeous natural light shift across the room. The cheerful kitchen, brimming with colour, is fitted out with everything you need for a short stay and everything you want should you tarry a little longer. Guest access The Sweet By & By is all yours to enjoy as is the generous grounds around the old church and the beautiful old elm tree at the front of the property. Other things to note Art enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, an inspiring outdoor gallery featuring over 60 sculptures representing artists from around the world. A must-visit during your stay. The mountain bike trails and the scenic Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail has options for all abilities - the perfect way to explore the region and immerse yourself in the great outdoors. The Sweet By & By has secure bike storage and off street secure motorbike parking on site, both are very welcome. Wine lovers, you will be impressed by our local cool climate wines, you’ll need a day to visit our nearby cellar doors and if gin is more your thing we have great distilleries for you too. 'Nest, Cafe - Cinema - Books’, our neighbours down the street, is just the place for a leisurely brunch if you’d rather not cook. There is a small grocery store in town where you can stock up on supplies if a night in sounds inviting. Take a stroll around picturesque Tumba’ shops for a little take home memory of your stay. Please kindly note, that the ‘Sweet By & By’ is not suitable for toddlers, children or pets due to the delicate nature of its furnishings. For the safety of your precious children we unfortunately can’t accommodate toddlers only babies not yet on the go. We request you supply your own baby’s bedding and cot.
