This 3 bedroom bungalow is a relaxing space for the whole family whether visiting Quantico for TBS/OCS/FBI graduations or sightseeing. Amtrak and VRE train stop and restaurants are under 5 minutes away - from the train you can go anywhere! DC, New York, Richmond, or to the airport to fly across the world! In town you can fish, watch the sunset at the Potomac River, visit restaurants, or go golfing. The space This 3 bedroom bungalow single family home is a relaxing space for the whole family whether visiting Quantico for TBS/OCS/FBI graduations or sightseeing. Amtrak and VRE train stop and restaurants are under 5 minutes away - from the train you can go anywhere! DC, New York, Richmond, or to the airport to fly across the world! In town you can fish, watch the sunset at the Potomac River, visit restaurants, or go golfing at the nearby course (civilians can use the golf course!). This is a single family home with a living room, game room, full kitchen with seating for 6,, laundry room, and small mudroom as well as a beautiful screened in porch with wicker furniture to enjoy your morning coffee or wind down in the evening. There are 3 bedrooms in this home. Bedroom 1: King Size Bed, Bedroom 2: Twin trundle bed (beds do not separate but have separate mattresses) Bedroom 3: King bed. The home has one bathroom with a tub and glass shower door. You will enter the home through the screened in porch and use a door code to enter the home. There is usually parking directly in front of the home as well as on the side of the home (don’t park in yellow curb space). The living room has a cozy leather sofa and chair as well as TV and a coat rack. The dining room has a wood table and 6 chairs, there is a leaf available to extend the table if desired as well. The game room has a ceiling fan and plenty of board games. A WIi, arcade game and 4 in one pool/hockey/foosball game table. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space to store food and is fully-stocked with dinnerware to include plates, bowls, cups, eating utensils, mugs and children's dinnerware. Cabinets have everything you need for cooking easy or elegant meals and snacks such as: a full set of pots & pans, rice cooker, crock pot, toaster, baking sheets, and many cooking utensils. There is a microwave above the gas-range stove. The kitchen is well-lit making it easy to cook and a dishwasher and soap provided to clean up after your meals. The coffee maker makes drip-style or K-cup coffee - an assortment of K-Cups and creamer/sugar are available complimentary for guests. This location is near (but not on) the water, it is a short (less than 5 min) walk to get to the river front where there is a dock, picnic tables, and outdoor grills as well as a small walking path. Please be aware of mosquitos (seasonally) and bring bug spray if desired. The home is a short 5 minute (or less) walk to the train station but is only a block away from the train which means you may hear trains during your stay if you are sensitive to noises. The neighborhood is easy to walk around in. Just one street over you will find several small restaurants and carry-out dining as well as a small convenience store. Many close after lunchtime but a few are open into the evening. If you want a marine style haircut, there are plenty of barber shops there as well. The train station for the VRE and Amtrak is a short 5-minute walk from the home - it is easy to catch the train for a trip into DC. If you are authorized cardholder (DoD ID etc) you can walk to the movie theatre, bowling alley, and gym about 7 minutes away. The Medal of Honor golf course and restaurant - open to the public - is less than a 5-minute drive. Just off base you’ll find the historic City of Triangle with a small casino, food, grocery, antique and thrift stores, and some historical sites. Street parking in front of home and along the side is available free but is not reserved (eg first come). Do not park on the side of the "yellow curb" though. --------- The town has a nice playground at the community center just a 2 minute walk away (you can see it from the home). You can also walk down to the Raftelis Potomac River Park where you can play basketball, enjoy the view of the Potomac River, use community grills and picnic tables. There is a beautiful pier you can walk out on for views and also some great fishing or to launch a kayak (you would need to bring your own equipment). The Quantico USMC Marina has kayaks and boats available for rent for authorized cardholders. The beautiful Medal of Honor Golf Course at Marine Corps Quantico is available to the public for use and is a 5 minute drive from the home, tee time reservations are recommended. Guests will have full use of the entire home and small fenced in yard space where a few items will be set up for small children. Guests are asked not to use the back of the home outdoor deck and yard area after 9PM to avoid any noise for the home (which I also own) that adjoins that space. The windows for the bedrooms of that home go to the backyard and even small sounds can disturb tenants that have early morning hours for work. Your respect for this is greatly appreciated. IMPORTANT ACCESS INFORMATION: Civilians can visit this unique town surrounded on 3 sides by a military base (and the 4th side is the Potomac River). Due to the government takeover of Fuller Road, the only way to get to the town by vehicle, you will need to have a REALID for every person over 18 and they do run a criminal background check on each person in the group. If you are a registered sex offender or a felon they will not allow you access -- if you have a warrant out for your arrest, the police will arrest you at the security gate. You will be able to get a visitor pass if staying more than a day by visiting the Quantico Visitor Center which will then allow you to come/go freely through the Marine Police Checkpoint at Fuller Road. They will issue a pass good for the length of your stay by showing the reservation. I apologize for the inconvenience of being able to get to the home but we are forced to live within the imposed constraints. The cost of the reservations for this home has been reduced to accommodate this extra burden. NON-US Citizens: You are welcome to visit as well but I'll need passport info and birthdate for them to complete your background review preferably a week before arrival. Please let me know this so I can get you cleared ahead of your visit. HOUSE RULES: Maximum occupancy: 6 People. This includes all ages. All individuals that will be on the premises for more than 10 minutes must be on the reservation. We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs with a pet fee for each. Please include your dog when booking. We kindly ask that pets remain off furniture, are crated if left unattended, and that all waste is picked up. The home is located in a residential neighborhood and is intended for relaxing vacations—not parties or events. All individuals, of any age, that will be on the premises at any given time must be on the reservation, whether staying overnight or not. If you invite individuals over that are not on the reservation for any reason it will be considered an unauthorized gathering and incur a $500 fee plus a daily rate charge of $25 per person, per day of your reservation. Exterior security cameras with video and audio recording monitor the front entrance, and back gate. There is also a camera in the crawlspace of the home which is off-limits to guests (because we had a pipe burst once, this way we are alerted for any activity). This is for protection of our property. There are no interior cameras. To protect our property and deter bad actors, the following recovery fees will be strictly pursued when necessary – these costs reflect actual professional remediation costs, which are high in the Northern Virginia Area: Property & Wall Damage: Dispatch fee to assess and prepare estimate for damage $250. Actual repair invoice costs are added in addition to this cost. Excessive Cleaning: Deep cleaning fees starting at $250 for standard rooms, and up to $20,000+ for severe unit-wide trashing plus costs for lost opportunity of reservations that must be cancelled to return the home to rent condition. Smoking Policy Violation: $1,000 minimum dispatch fee for same-day cleaning service labor/time and rental of equipment for specialized ozone treatment. Hazardous Waste: $1,000 minimum dispatch fee for biohazard cleanup fee for unsafe materials to include drugs/marijuana, or bodily fluid remediation. Police Dispatch: $250 fee for property manager dispatch at any hour of the day to meet any local authorities dispatched for any reason whether by neighbors or guests. Pet Non-Disclosure Policy Violation: $500 fee per animal for unauthorized animal brought on the premises or for violating local pet restrictions. Furniture moving costs: Cleaner is not a furniture movers. If you move anything, put it back where it was (see listing photos if you aren’t sure). Cost to dispatch a crew for moving furniture back with no notice to get home ready to rent again is $200. CRITICAL HOME CARE RULES: 1. PLUMBING: Our plumbing system is older and the water is purchased from the military base and is rather expensive. Please report any leaks or water issues. Absolutely nothing other than toilet paper may be flushed down the toilets. Flushing wet wipes – even if they say “flushable” - paper towels, diapers, or any kind of feminine hygiene products will cause an immediate backup preventing the liquids from moving into the drain field. It may also cause back up into the home and guests will be held liable for the plumbing emergency invoice. 2. CLIMATE CONTROL: Exterior doors and windows are linked to the Air Conditioning and Heating system. If left open for more than 5 minute the unit will turn off and will not re-start until they are closed. This may cause increase or decrease of temperature. Temperature will return to set variance typically at a rate of 1 degree per hour. Guests will be responsible for emergency HVAC repair costs if negligence is found with dispatch fees starting at $350. 3. DEVICE TAMPERING: Tampering with, unplugging, or covering any exterior security cameras, the electronic door lock mechanism, or the main Wi-Fi router is strictly prohibited and will result in a cost of $250 for property manager to come reset devices. 4. CHECK-OUT DEADLINE: Check-out is strictly at 11:00 AM. Unapproved late check-outs past 10 minutes will incur a $100 fee to compensate our cleaning staff for their lost scheduling window for the first hour and $50 per 15-minute increment after. We have no intention of ever charging these fees to our wonderful, five-star guests. They exist solely to protect our home based on past experiences for bad actors only. Thank you for treating our space with the utmost of respect to allow it to be a place for others to enjoy in the future as well.
