Description
Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. A truly off-grid experience! Our Cabin’s are tucked away in a wooded private area with a outdoor fire pit, bbq, picnic table, muskoka chairs, a pond and solar patio lights. Designed to be a relaxing glamping retreat while still having the comforts and amenities close by. Why off-grid cabins? Because the average person spends over 5 hours a day on their phone. We need to spend more time with the people we love, connecting. Other things to note Frequently Asked Questions How do I light a fire? We love for our guests to get to experience building and lighting their own heat outdoors in the fire pit. We provide you with a bag of wood complementary. Any additional wood needed can be purchased at the shop between regular shop hours at a cost of $12 per bag. Can we burn candles? No, real candles can knock over and with a wood cabin can pose a risk to you and your companion(s). Your cabin is equipped with artificial candles and lanterns for your safety and convenience. What if I forgot something? Guest services are here to help provide the best possible experience. If you are having trouble locating something in the cabin or forgot something you can speak with guest services and they will do their best to inform, assist or supply. How do I book the shower facilities? We understand that guests joining us for longer stays will want access to the indoor plumbing and shower facilities. This is accessible through the main reception (shop) area. As it can be a busy area during regular business hours we ask that you book your shower time before 9am or after 530pm for a better experience. Towels can be provided with previously booked times, but we ask that you bring your own toiletries. For those that enjoy the authentic outdoors experience we do have a beautiful swimming pond - we do ask that you use only soaps and products that are kind to the environment and biodegradable. It’s hot, how do I cool down? Your cabin is off grid, so we ask that you bring a portable fan if needed. We also recommend closing the windows during the day and opening them up during the evening as the cabins are insulated to support the change in weather and maintain a comfortable temperature. What all is included in the cabin state? 2 coffee mugs / kettle Board games and cards battery lights 1 bag of wood, 1 batch of paper, matches 2 paper plates / wood cutlery (disposable) 1 bbq tongs 1 bbq 1 outdoor fireplace 4 chairs / dining table cooler What if I want something from the cabin or take something that is not mine? We are flattered that you like our taste, but we ask that you not take things in the cabin that are provisioning. If you do take something home with you, there is a charge associated with every item at a premium (including glassware, soup, towels, pillows, etc) - please inquire on the costs associated and if something listed is missing when you check in please notify guest services right away. The items that you are not charged for would be any welcome treats (as indicated) and the first batch of firewood (already in the room). What should I bring? Bedding / sheets / pillows Towels Toiletries Food / ice Battery banks Charging your phone (although you can charge at guest services) / wireless speakers / board games etc (no tv, no electricity) battery powered fan Warm clothes / weather appropriate Bug spray / sunscreen Swimsuits (for the swimming pond) How far off-grid are we? About 500 feet away from a shop and the property that includes a swimming pond, play ground and various other amenities - the cabin area itself has a small viewing pond and relaxing treed in grounds. There is a country road that is approximately 500 feet away from the cabin as well. While you are off-grid, you have quick access to a road that can take you to the nearest town that is 8 minutes away. Do we get wifi signal or cell signal? The cabins do not have wifi - this is intentional and with the desire to help people digitally detox. cell signal is accessible, but some people do find in the treed area (like any wooded area) that cell signal can be spotty.
