The space LOCATION A newly built detached house in the historic village of Silchester. We are situated between Basingstoke and Reading on the Hampshire/ Berkshire border. We are 8 miles from Basingstoke and 14 miles from Reading which connect to the M3 and M4 respectively From Mortimer or Bramley train station connections run to Reading and Basingstoke mainline stations. Reading to Paddington 25mins Basingstoke to Waterloo 40 minutes Easy Day trips to the South Coast or New Forest all within an hour drive. We are surrounded with lots of woodland and countryside providing opportunities for woodland walks and cycling We are a short walk ( 0.5 mile) to the Calleva Arms pub which is a lovely country pub serving food 7 days a week Other nearby pubs are The Plough in Little London and The Pelican in Pamber Heath Pamber Village Stores (1/2 mile) can provide essential food and wines but the larger supermarkets of Sainsbury and Lidl are conveniently located a mile away in Tadley . The cricket pavilion has a pop up café Wednesdays (summer months) and Fridays (year round) serving a selection of teas, coffees, light lunches and cakes . The Village hall hosts a farmers market on the first Saturday of the month as well as a full schedule of various classes (details can be found online) We are located next to the woodland areas of Pamber Forest, Silchester Common and Benyons Enclosure so you will be able to open the front door and head straight out into nature– whether it’s to clear your head in the morning, go explore the woodland trails, or just soak up the stillness. ROMAN CALLEVA We are fortunate to be close to the site of the ancient roman town of Calleva 1 mile away. A lovely walk through Silchester or short drive will take you to the car park. The walk around the old stone town walls and amphitheatre are signposted from there. A must for your visit. WEDDINGS The popular wedding venue of Silchester Farm is close by (2miles) Wasing , Ufton Nervet and The Old Mill are also nearby If booking for a wedding don’t forget an unforgettable spa day at Nirvana. All cooking equipment , crockery , cutlery and glassware are provided. Utility Plenty of space for extra kitchen storage and a washer dryer. Dining Space A large table seating 6 comfortably is set infront of French doors leading out onto a private south facing garden. Living room A south facing room with French doors to the garden. There is an wall mounted modern fire and large TV that is combatible with Netflix and Prime Study: A designated working space with a desk. This room also has a double sofa bed for use as a fourth bedroom. Upstairs: Accomodation is across 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms: Calleva: Master bedroom with a double bed and shower en suite Heath: A double bedroom Benyon: Twin bedded room Main bathroom with free standing bath. Garden and Outside Space: Gates from Soke Road lead to the driveway which has plenty of parking for 3 or 4 cars. A south facing private garden with a sunny patio, sun shade, table and chairs There is a shed where bikes can be securely stored (ask us about this prior to booking) Guest access Through double gates from Soke Road you have parking for 3 cars on a level gravel driveway Other things to note One well behaved dog by arrangement is allowed but must stay downstairs.
