Shaky Jack's Cabin

Shaky Jack's Cabin is your peaceful hideaway secluded in the woods, but close to town, the Soo Locks, casinos, snowmobile trails, hiking, beaches, golfing, fishing and so much more! The cabin is full of rustic charm, while also providing all of the must have amenities. The space Shaky Jack's Cabin is a log cabin on just under 6 acres of private woods. Whether you want to play board games by the wood stove or enjoy all of the outdoor recreation the Soo has to offer, there is something here for everyone. Named after the legendary Shaky Jack, who was one of the builders of the cabin. Indoors The cabin has an open concept living room, kitchen and dining room on the main floor. The kitchen features a beautiful copper sink, and includes a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and electric stove/oven. The living room has a cozy, oversized sectional couch, a wood stove, and a 55" TV with a soundbar and sub. Please note: the wood stove is only available for use in the winter months. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and twin bunks on custom hand-made log furniture. A pack-n-play is also available. There is a full bathroom with custom Italian stone shower and rainfall shower head. A half bathroom is located on the main floor as well. The loft is a semi-private bedroom with a custom hand-made log king bed and a reading nook. This room is secluded, but does still open up to the main living area down below. You must climb a set of stairs to get to the loft bedroom with the king bed. Two twin air mattresses are available for use but bedding is NOT provided for these beds. The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 people in beds but can accommodate up to 8 using the air mattresses. A washer and dryer are available on the main floor. Books, games, puzzles, and an Amazon Fire TV Stick are available for your entertainment. Outdoors. There is a large outdoor space with plenty of room to play games, a patio table with umbrella, BBQ grill, and a firepit (please note, the patio table and BBQ grill are not available in the winter). The property also features a unique screened-in gazebo to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs. Yard games are available. There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers. There is a detached garage that guests have access to. There is not room to park a vehicle inside, but there is enough room to pull a few snowmobiles inside. Located close to Tahquamenon Falls, Sugar Island, Lake Superior State University, the Soo Locks, snowmobile trails, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants and shops. Guest access -Guests have access to the cabin and the garage. There is not room to park a vehicle in the garage, but there is room to pull snowmobiles inside. Entry is through the side door. -There is a locked room at the back of the garage that guests do not have access to. -Entry: coded smart lock Other things to note -The cabin has an AC unit that does cool it, but don't expect it to be down to Arctic temperatures inside. -There is a pack-n-play, high chair, baby gate and children's plates, cups and utensils. -If you plan to use the air mattresses, bedding is not provided -The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 guests in beds, but you will need to use air mattresses if more than 6 guests are staying.
