Charming cottage hideaway surrounded by nature

Luxurious interiors, designed with keen attention to detail will ensure a truly memorable stay. Our recently renovated cottage includes a fully fitted kitchen & double bedroom situated at the top of a bespoke spiral stairs (sleeps 2 adults with room for cot/small mattress). The comfy sitting room features a kingsize sofa bed & log burner. We’re in central Norfolk on the grounds of a listed Manor House, ideal for a charming getaway surrounded by nature or a comfortable rest whilst working nearby. The space This wonderful character cottage lies to the right of the main house Rokeles Hall, it originates from the 1800's (Victorian era) and once upon a time housed some of the workers that were affiliated to the hall. Our sensitive restoration project began in 2024 with a lot of time and care taken to ensure the unique quirky characteristics of this Victorian cottage were still retained such as the gentle undulation of the orignal roof, the quirky chimneys and decorative dormers with bargeboards and finials. Guests enter the cottage through the large coach house doors (a sensitive recreation of the ones that were here previously). You will arrive into the open plan sitting room & kitchen with a dining areas, lounge area (with toilet to the side). The kitchen floor features traditional Norfolk pamments which have been lovingly scoured from across the county. Here, amongst the fully fitted units you will find a slimline dishwasher, washing machine, oven & hob and fridge with small freezer plus ample storage for any groceries you'd like to bring. Returning to the sitting room you will see a large reclaimed farmhouse table which will easily seat 6 people. There is nothing nicer than to open the double doors and enjoy a perfect indoor/outdoor experience on a summers evening. There is also a new Swyft sofa which can turn into a kingsize double sofa bed, nothing more cosy than going to sleep with the embers in the log burner softly glowing in the distance! To the left of the lounge area there is a traditional lime plaster wall that features a bespoke handmade spiral staircase which leads up to the bedroom. The bedroom has been designed to feel like a cosy retreat, it features a kingsize bed with plenty of space and even a reading nook in the window...it’s a lovely place to while away the morning listening to the birdsong with a book & a cup of tea! To the right of the bed is the bathroom which features all new but traditional bathroom furniture. A rainmaker shower and a deep bath with heated victorian style towel rail will ensure a pleasant and relaxing stay for all. We ask that dogs are on leads at all times with the exception of the back field where they can go off lead (at owners risk). Miles of well-maintained trails wind through towering pine trees, offering plenty of space for energetic dogs to explore. The sandy paths stay fairly dry year-round, and there are routes to suit both short strolls and longer adventures. 2. Thompson Common: A hidden gem south of Watton, thompson Common combines heathland, woodland and picturesque ponds. The peaceful setting makes it ideal for a relaxed walk, while the variety of habitats keeps things interesting for curious canine noses. Do keep dogs under control around grazing livestock and wildlife. 3. The Great Eastern Pingo Trail: For dogs that enjoy a proper outing, the Pingo Trail is hard to beat. This unique circular route takes in rare Ice Age pingo ponds, woodland, heathland and open countryside. It's flat, scenic and packed with natural interest, making every walk feel a little different. 4. Loch Neaton: Just a 10-minute walk from the town centre, Loch Neaton is a scenic three-acre lake popular with dog walkers, featuring a boardwalk that leads to a picturesque picnic area. Whether you're after a quick walk or longer ramble, these spots offer plenty of fresh air, scenery and wagging tails!
