Board games, petanque, reading, swing, free-range rabbits, chicken coop, deckchairs... you will inevitably find an activity that suits you. For the more athletic, many walks and a natural climbing spot nearby. 🌲 Walking distance via a forest trail (about 10 minutes), for total immersion. The space 🛏️ Beds and bedrooms 1 separate bedroom with 160×200 bed + wooden crib with bars 1 separate bedroom with a 160×200 bed 1 dormitory with 2 90×190 beds and 2 90×200 beds ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🏡 Living room - Large, convivial table that can seat up to 10 people - Fully equipped kitchen with wood-burning stove (oven included), gas hob and everything you need to cook delicious meals - Small fridge with freezer in summer, outdoor fridge in winter - Old-school sofa, new and ultra-comfortable - Lots of board games - Over a hundred books for children and adults ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 👶 Families & babies welcome As young parents ourselves, we designed the gîte to make travelling with children easier: - Changing table - Foldable baby cot with an extra thick mattress and fitted sheets - High chair (without tray) - Potty - All-terrain pushchair with 3 large wheels for walks in the area ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 📝 Things to know before booking Minimum stay: 2 nights, all year round. Bed linen provided. Towels not provided (voluntary choice, for reasons of personal hygiene). The gîte is 100% self-sufficient in water and electricity: it is comfortable, but the place encourages responsible consumption. If necessary, alternative solutions are provided (torches, zinc basin for heating water over a wood fire, generator, Berkey filter, etc.). 🌲 Access on foot via a forest path (about 10 minutes) — bring luggage that is easy to carry. The cottage is designed for recharging your batteries, not for parties. The rabbits live freely: please respect their peace and quiet. Pets are not allowed. The hens may be able to provide you with some fresh eggs. Until the day before your departure, they can roam freely if you remember to close the door in the evening for their safety at night. And on the day of your departure, don't open the door – it will be very difficult to get them back into the henhouse before 7 pm, when they go to bed "alone" :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🚪 For your departure Please remove the sheets from the beds used and place them in the laundry basket Clean and put away the dishes Vacuum or sweep Empty the ash drawer into the zinc bucket on the outside shelf Empty the fridge inside and/or outside Leave the trash bags outside the house to avoid mice :) The cleaning package includes 4 hours of work: replenishing the wood (and cutting it if necessary), replenishing the Berkey filter, checking the filters for making the water drinkable, a thorough clean of the interior, feeding the chickens, remaking the beds, possibly recharging the batteries, checking the exterior, the gas cylinder, taking the rubbish bins down to the village... You don't get bored in a self-sufficient house! ^^ Guest access You will have access to the entire house except the cellars and the photovoltaic area outside. The house is about 90 m2, and 4,000 m2 of land is secured with a closed fence so that children can play without the risk of getting lost. We own 3.4 hectares of forest up to the summit at 850 m, with a panoramic view that is worth the trip! Access is only possible via a pedestrian forest path or by 4x4. If you wish, you can request that we transfer your personal belongings to and from the property for an additional fee of 40 euros. We will therefore be happy to explain all the independent facilities in the house to you, if you are interested. Other things to note Access to the house on foot only! About 10 minutes with two big climbs, non-athletes or people with reduced mobility will have a hard time. We can take you in a 4x4 with your belongings for €40 for the return trip, however, this is subject to availability, so book in advance! :-) Access to the village of Yzeron 13 min walk. There you will find: bakery / pastry shop, butcher and grocery store. There are also 3 restaurants. Access to Lac du Ronzey: 30 min walk or 8 min walk + car. Leisure fishing possible with permit to buy in the village. No swimming. Access to the "Yzeron plateau" area: 10 min walk + 3 min by car. Very many fun and sporting activities on site, booking on their recommended website. Tree climbing, zip-line, volleyball, electric scooters, orienteering games... and the superb Franco-Peruvian hostel La Peña! Access to natural climbing walls 7 min walk by hiking trails. The site is quite known around, so don't be surprised by hikers who wander their moss mat on their back:-)
