Stylish Rural Hideaway – Secluded & Spacious
Stylish Rural Hideaway – Secluded & Spacious
Description
Autumn Escape – 30% off weekly stays until mid December A remarkable barn conversion tucked away in the peaceful Suffolk countryside. Once the creative studio of Neil Innes – the "seventh Python" – it now offers soaring double-height living, sleek contemporary design, and stunning views across fields and skies. A true haven for nature lovers, and anyone seeking inspiration, relaxation or tranquillity. The space Your escape begins as you drive down a half-mile private track and see the glazed gable end of Bryce's Barn amidst the protective trees of this old Suffolk farmstead. Step inside and take in the breath-taking sense of space. The double-height living space soars above you, while an intricately designed glazed end wall frames the Suffolk countryside. Contemporary furnishings complement exposed beams, creating spaces that feel both homely and inspiring. Glazed doors open out to a private south-facing terrace with extensive decking and a woodland garden, the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. The beautifully designed kitchen wraps around a large central island, inviting leisurely breakfasts and sociable cooking. Above, a mezzanine reading area overlooks both the living space and the fields beyond the glazed end wall. Two king-size bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms promise comfort and privacy—one of which is located on the ground floor, offering easier access for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. A dedicated workspace with Starlink broadband completes this thoughtfully designed retreat. Guests are welcome to use the tennis court, weather permitting. And in the summer months, there is an outside pool available. This is the countryside at its best — rich with wildlife, wrapped in quiet beauty, and steeped in the sound of silence. A place where there’s room to breathe and the pace of life gently loosens its grip. Tucked away from the noise and demands of everyday life, it invites you to rest, reflect, write, work remotely — or simply be, whether alone or in the company of those you love. Bryce’s Barn offers something increasingly rare: genuine sanctuary. Despite its rural tranquillity, the village of Debenham, with its butcher, greengrocer, cafés and characterful pubs, lies just a mile away via Britain's longest ford. Fancy something quirky? Just a few miles away, the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway (The Middy) runs restored steam trains that recall a bygone era—and if the timing's right, a charming pop-up pub in a vintage railway carriage awaits, serving local ales and ciders. Beyond these nearby delights, you'll find wonderful classical concerts and galleries at Snape Maltings, owls and falcons at the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, the timeless landscapes of Constable Country, and the sparkling Suffolk coast at Aldeburgh and Southwold, all waiting to be explored. If you're after a stay that inspires, restores, and lingers long after you leave … Bryce's Barn is waiting. Fancy a longer stay? Relaxation deserves more than a weekend — and this autumn, it’s even more rewarding. Stay for 7 nights or more until mid-December and enjoy 30% off. Bryce’s Barn can be your base for working, writing, wandering, or simply resting in peaceful seclusion. If the idea of a longer stay appeals, feel free to send us a message. We’ll be glad to create a tailored offer — whether you're seeking a home-from-home, a creative retreat, or a quiet space to work in comfort and calm.
