The space The cabin showcases a fully functional kitchen designed and stocked with the keen chef in mind. Stay in and cook! Options include, gas cooktop, a beautifully restored Rayburn wood fired cooker, Webber BBQ or Japanese charcoal clay oven. Quality knives, copper and caste iron cookware, pizza equipment, the list goes on. Fresh farm produce is available for purchase - full details will accompany your booking welcome letter. The luxurious bathroom with views of the forest completes the experience with a claw foot bath. The cabin is heated with a slow combustion fireplace and features a luxury king size bed on the bottom floor with a queen size bed in the loft. The stylish mid-century furnishings and enormous double-glazed windows overlooking the majestic white gum forest offer a not-to-be missed experience. The spacious wooden deck provides a platform where you can observe wombats, wallabies, lyrebirds and a variety of local wildlife roaming in their natural habitat. Guests have reported spotting platypus, turtles and freshwater crabs - only a truly pristine environment supports this sort of natural ecosystem. In summer, enjoy lazy afternoons lying on the grass on the feather filled cozy Glamswags - perfect for soaking up the sun! Relive all your stress soaking in the two person wood-fired bath, splash in the creek or simply curl up in the swinging egg chairs with a good book. In the evening, gather around the outdoor fire pit to warm up and enjoy the night sky whilst playing your favourite music. With the wall of bifold doors wide open, and retractable flyscreen door, you can truly embrace an indoor-outdoor experience, blurring the lines between comfort and nature. Whitegum cabin is off-grid. It is completely solar powered, collects beautiful fresh rainwater for your use and recycles all used water back to the nearby paddock. We offer recycling and composting for our guests to further reduce the footprint of their visit. Guest access Spa Experience: Rejuvenate your body and mind with an infrared sauna, spa, cold plunge and hot outdoor shower in the private gardens of the homestead with access via golf cart! The spa can be used between 10am and 8pm - just let your hosts know when you are arriving so they can ensure a peaceful and private experience. Feel free to purchase ice and make it an ice plunge for maximum health benefits! We have large freezers for storage. *Note: The homestead and spa is located on a separate part of the farm from the cabin and is accessible via the Food Forest On weekends, we have secured the services of a remedial massage therapist that can come to the cabin if you wish. Fishing & Fun: With the creek right at your doorstep, indulge in tranquil fishing experiences or simply enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing water. (Chairs, rods and bait supplied) Other things to note Whitegum Off-Grid Cabin is nestled deep in the Neerim State Forest and has no neighbours so your stay is completely away from all other buildings. There is no fencing between the cabin and the forest so you are literally on the forest door step. There are a number of walks from the door that you can do without even having to get in the car. The paddocks and at the back have livestock style fencing that a dog could get through. All firewood is supplied and stacked by the Master Swiss builder, cut to size for each of the heating and cooking options.
