Description

Relax in this cosy stylish studio which is an annexe to our 1880 fisherman's cottage in the quaint historic harbour village of Cockenzie, linked with Port Seton - the house is actually located on the battlefield of the Battle of Prestonpans. Five minutes walk to the harbour and local swimming cove and even closer to Cockenzie House - a thriving community hub with beautiful gardens, a cafe, vintage fairs, live music and much more. The coastal walkway John Muir Way runs through Cockenzie. The space This is a self-contained annexe studio, adjoining our main house, it has its own entrance and garden area with a chimonea - we are able to respect each others privacy. The kitchenette has a double airfryer, plug-in cooking hob, toaster, fridge and kettle and you will easily have access to further kitchen facilities (including laundry) if required. There is an en-suite shower room. The sofa can convert to a small double sofa bed for an additional sleeping area, however the studio is compact so I don't generally recommend more than 2 guests. I am on hand for anything you may need. Guest access There is a keysafe and you can come and go as you please with your own entrance to the property via the back lane. I can meet you on arrival and show you round the accommodation, but if you prefer I can easily explain how to access the Studio independently. Other things to note We are only 10 miles from Edinburgh and very well linked to the city centre via public transport, only 13 minutes by train to Waverley station from nearby Prestonpans and frequent 24 hour bus service (number 26) from 1 minute round the corner to and from the heart of Edinburgh. East Lothian is renowned for its beautiful beaches, country walks and world famous golf courses. Cockenzie is in close proximity to many charming towns including Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick each with their own fascinating history and character not to mention wonderful cafes, shops and restaurants. There are three friendly pubs within easy walking distance of the Studio, local shops and takeaways plus supermarkets in nearby Prestonpans, Port Seton and Tranent. We are surrounded by a thriving fishing and farming community with fishmongers and farm shops selling locally produced fresh products. In fact you may be offered some freshly caught mackerel, pheasant and foraged mushrooms in the back lane!
