COVID cleaning protocols This comfortable, friendly and conveniently located west-side in-law apartment is the perfect place to relax on a short Cleveland getaway, escape from the kids, or to temporarily call home during your next short-term work assignment, extended family visit or medical recovery. In winter grab a book and a blanket and cozy up to the fire. Pour a glass of wine and listen to your favorite holiday music, or stream one of your favorite holiday movies. We've got plenty of suggestions for dinners out, and everything you need for staying in. Afterward take a stroll down to the lake and take in a winter sunset, or drive down lake road and check out the holiday light displays! We're betting you'll like it so much in winter you'll be back in summer to enjoy the pool! Did we mention the pool? It's salt water, with a waterfall, jets and bubblers, a 1 foot deep sub deck for the tots, and it has an amazing slide for the bigger kids (but we've seen a lot of adults enjoy it too! ). We get guests who come back year after year!! And if you're coming to visit local family and would like to invite them over for a dip, let us know in advance. That can be accommodated for an additional fee. This one bedroom apartment has all the comforts of home combined with the amenities and hospitality of a bed and breakfast. Spacious and well-appointed, the savvy traveler will find everything they need - from hair dryers and toiletries to high-end kitchen appliances and a stocked pantry - plus, a full compliment of Satellite and streaming services, reliable high speed internet and a comfortable space to work remotely . So wether you plan to work, visit family, see a concert, attend a sporting event, get outdoors and hike the Metroparks and kayak the lake, or just snuggle up by the fire with a mug of tea and a good book in peace --we've got you covered! Please be aware that children ( and pets) are living in the home ( attached to your private space) so we prefer family friendly guests. That doesn't mean you necessarily have kids, just that you aren't primarily looking for an adults-only experience and you don't mind seeing or hearing one from time to time! I have a long driveway with easy parking. You'll have full access to the entire apartment via a separate entrance. You will also have unrestricted to the shared deck and backyard. Pool is available for use seasonally ( typically May - October but actual weather conditions determine opening and closing dates) and closed for the winter months. The pool is not private to the rental but part of my backyard entertaining space. My family and friends (and dogs!) are frequently outside around the pool in the summer, but you are more than welcome to join us! We are a lot of fun! Although you will have complete privacy, I will be available on a daily basis to help you make the most of your stay, and I can help streamline your time by providing groceries, meals, or laundry service. Would you like your favorite beer in the fridge when you arrive? Just ask! Whether you want to know the best local hang out spot, great spots for hiking in the metroparks, or where to find the only late night drug store, I'll make sure you have what you need. I'll provide you with a book of restaurants, take out menus, and local hot spots to try. Or just relax in the sunshine on the deck, or take a dip in the pool. I'm here to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible! We are located in a residential neighborhood, with easy highway access. We are located roughly 45 minutes from Cedar Point, Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari Waterpark. 10 minutes from a two different full service shopping malls , and 15-20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. The hip neighborhoods of Tremont, Ohio City, The Flats, and West 4th are 10-15 minutes away. If you enjoy nature, we are minutes from the metroparks, Huntington Beach, and the Lake Erie Nature Center. You will find everything you need here: fast food, bakeries, local shops, farmers markets, flea markets, art fairs and more. Cleveland is primarily a car city. If you are flying here, I suggest a rental car in order to really enjoy all the city has to offer. However, there is a city bus at the top of my street that connects to downtown. Note that unless you have a valid reason (and there are some, so don't let this scare you off if you do) I rarely accept bookings from guests who live in the greater Cleveland area because of concerns about parties and other illicit activities. Please read the house rules. Make sure you understand them. The apartment has one queen sized bed in the bedroom. I also have a queen sized aero bed and a twin aero bed that can be set up in the living room upon request. Generally speaking, the entire space is not suitable for more than 4 adults or 2 adults and 2-3 children, depending on age. 5 is the maximum I can accommodate. The apartment itself is not suitable for gatherings larger than 6-8 . Primarily local friends or family, and only for limited visits. For reasons of safety and security, you must notify me in advance and obtain permission when having visitors. During the summer months the outdoor space is somewhat more flexible. However, if you plan to have a small group of family or friends visiting during the summer months and intend to use the pool and outdoor spaces there will an additional charge to offset the extended pool operating and maintenance costs. Please see the section on pool rules for further details. The apartment and/or pool area is not rentable for private parties or special events, but is an amenity I offer my overnight guests to use. For guests who would like to host a large get together, I can help suggest another venue during your stay. Children are allowed. We are family friendly as 9- year-old twins live here! Please give me a heads up if you will need items for children and /or babies. During the summer months the pool presents certain safety concerns with small children. It has a safety cover that should remain closed when not being used. However, children must be supervised at all times outside when the pool is in season. During the winter there is a mesh cover that safely ensures no one can fall in, but parents should still be cautious as water can collect on the covers and presents a drowning hazard. There is no lifeguard and at no point should any child or adult swim alone, regardless of ability. Also note that I have a small and friendly Jack Russell terrier named Finn , a yellow lab mix named Duncan and a black and tan hound mix named Guiness who will have free use of the back yard. I also have cats that have access to the yard and laundry space. My pets do not enter the apartment, and I don't allow pets with guests (I used to allow dogs, but I just had too many problems and too many guests with allergies). The apartment itself will be pet free, but that said, if you are afraid of dogs, or severely allergic to cats, this might not be the best place for you, as I cannot fully guarantee you won't encounter one! POOL RULES: The pool will be an included amenity for overnight guests only from 9am to 9pm. There is no lifeguard. All adults must know how to swim in order to use the pool. Children who cannot swim independently must have a parent with them in the water at all times. There is no swimming alone. Ever. At least one other capable adult must be present poolside who is willing and able to assist a swimmer in distress. The pool is not private to the Airbnb, but shared with me and my family and any of our personal guests. You should not have an expectation of a private pool, though you may well have it to yourselves, and guests often do. Use of the pool is not guaranteed in the rental. There may be times when the pool must be closed for weather, maintenance or repairs. These times are rare, but they do happen. We hope you will understand. I cannot and will not offer a refund for your stay in these events. Should you wish to have visitors for swimming you may use the pool, grills and amenities with visitors between 12pm and 8pm for a fee of $50/hr or a daily flat fee of $300. A minimum of a two night stay is required to exercise this option and it must be arranged and paid for at the time of booking. The total number of guests ( including those in the booking) shall not exceed 12 at any given time, unless express permission is given. There is no swimming during rain or thunderstorms. You may request a refund for any extra pool time you have paid for in the event of inclement weather, or if the pool is closed for repairs. However if you choose to use the grills and outdoor space for your visitors without the pool due to rain, there will be no refund. Please note indoor space is much more limited and not appropriate for large gatherings, so please do not plan to move groups larger than 6 indoors in the event of rain. Please remind visitors: No smoking. No pets. No drugs. No weapons. Children live here. Keep it family friendly. I reserve the right to refuse any additional pool booking. Parents must supervise children at all times. Guests you invite who are behaving in an unsafe, unruly or disrespectful manner, or who violate the house rules will be asked to leave. Should you wish to add the pool time to your stay, please let me know what you would like to add when you make your booking request and I will send you an offer to book with an updated total for your approval.
