Welcome to Hawaii 1940, but with high speed WiFi. You are 2 hours from the Liberia airport, and the cottage is in perfect place for you: close to a world-famous surfing spot, Yoga Institute and "downtown" Nosara. There is one queen size bed. There is an error on this page about 2 beds, and I can't find it to correct it. Expect water/electricity/internet outages, annual invasion of bugs, heavy rains in the rainy season, bridges out, etc. We do our best to get utilities repaired but can be slow. Welcome to Hawaii as it was in 1940, but with high speed 'premium' DSL WiFi, and two hammocks. You are only 2 hours from the Liberia airport, and you can use a rental car, which you can pick up at the airport and drop in Nosara or we can send a van. This is a rustic surf town with dirt roads, friendly people, and lots of yoga and surfing going on. Your cottage is a 10 minute walk from the main surf beach, a five minute walk to the Yoga Institute, a two minute walk to the Spanish Language Institute, and "downtown." You are so close to downtown that, within a couple minutes walk, there is an ice cream shop, a mini-mart, a clinic, clothing stores, real estate offices, a bank, ATV and bike rentals, a lot of cafes and restaurants, and two surf shops, where you can rent boards and arrange for lessons. In the cottage, you have wireless high speed DSL internet, 24 hour on-call maintenance, local guides/maps, weekly housekeeping (daily housekeeping is optional), optional air conditioning (rarely needed), beach towels, ceiling fans, house linens are provided, a safe (will hold wallets, passports, 3 laptops), security (ornate ironwork on doors and windows), a blender, a juicer, a coffeemaker, a pressure cooker, a microwave, a refrigerator, a stove, a toaster, a rice cooker, optional personal laundry at $10 per load, a covered porch with two hammocks, off-road parking, outside shower, a large patio, patio furniture, and a beautiful yard. You are located above one of Nosara's many nature preserves and you will see a lot of wildlife. During the day the howler and spider monkeys play in the trees, pizotes wander through the yard (they love peanut butter), and tropical birds and butterflies fill the air around you. I walk to the beach twice a day to surf, and usually are not disappointed by what I find. Dawn and sunset surfing are the best if tides and winds are right. The locals are outstanding surfers, but they make room for visitors. In fact, I really can't say enough about the friendly, hospitable people of Nosara. They especially warm up to you when you try your Spanish on them. This is not just a rental house for income - I live here part of the year myself, and I have fixed it up to be cozy and complete. I don't scrimp on any of the amenities, because I like to fix things up nicely for myself as well. I bought this cottage after I had come to Nosara for years to surf and enjoy the food, scenery, monkeys, and local population. With the purchase of the cottage, I inherited a wonderful wife/husband team of managers, who are on the spot when anything needs attending to. They manage the gardens, the housekeeping, the laundry, the renter's needs, and renter scheduling. Keywords: High speed DSL WiFi, surfing, bungalow, casita, private, monkeys visit, pizotes visit, A/C, fans, shopping, night life, safe for valuables (can fit 3 laptops, wallets, purses), secure (attractive ironwork is standard for Nosara), housekeeping service, laundry service, hammocks, off-road parking, covered and lighted patio, yoga institute nearby, fishing, wildlife, nature preserve, waterfalls, zipline, beach, hiking. Be aware that when traveling in Central America, you WILL encounter water, electricity and internet outages. Expect an annual invasion of creepy bugs. Expect heavy rains in the rainy season. Expect bridges to be out and escape delayed until the rivers subside. We do our best to get utilities repaired quickly but can be slow. You rent the entire cottage. There are neighbors who keep an eye on your place while you're at the beach. There's a small safe that will handle a couple lap tops, passports, cash, etc. I have a wonderful manager, Virginie, who will meet you with the key, explain anything you want to know, and give you the controller to the A/C. People rarely use the A/C, and it's expensive, so she'll charge you $12/day if you want it. She'll also ask for a $50 cleaning fee and a $100 damage deposit, which is returned to you when you leave. Check in is normally at 3:00 pm on the day of your arrival and check out is normally at 11:00 am on the day of your departure. If you inquire a few days before arriving, I may be more flexible on check-in and check-out if there are no conflicts with other guests checking in or out. There is a binder with information on local restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. It also contains the password for WiFi. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or pets. You agree to the owner making a survey of the property after your departure and making a payment through vrbo for any damages. I am not responsible for injuries or accidents on this property. Please be careful. Smoking only outdoors. Please no candles or incense, because of the fire hazard. I will respond immediately to any complaint about cleanliness or safety.
