Charming family vacation home for 8 people (max 10 if 2 children) renovated in 2023. 
On one side beautiful view of a large garden facing south, on the other the house overlooks the square of a very small quiet and bucolic village with the astonishing fortified church of Jeantes with Charles Eyck's murals. An oasis of peace and space less than 4 hours below Utrecht, and 2 good hours from Brussels or Paris.
 The space This is a holiday home partially renovated in 2023 in Jeantes, a small village in the beautiful French Aisne with a magnificent fortified church that has the distinction of being almost entirely painted! With 4 bedrooms, our house is ideal for holidays for families or 2 families. A beautiful, very bright living room with large glass windows overlooking the garden, and a cozy living room with a piano that is cool in summer and warm in winter thanks to its wood burning stove. The garden is fenced. Ping pong table, bikes, darts and archery games, net to play badminton, barbecue, but you can also just quietly read a book in the sun or take a nap in the hammock! Long summer evenings around a large table under the covered terrace, or chess games or other board games in the living room watching the fire crackle in the stove! We are French but we live in Brussels with our two children who are in Dutch-speaking education, and this is our country house for holidays or weekends, also the house is well equipped, there are children's books in French and also in Dutch and toys! Upon request we can provide a cot for a baby and a high chair. There is no TV or wifi!

 Laundry/garage attached to the house and overlooking the covered terrace:
 - boots and clogs - washing machine, - no monkey laundry, but wire and hanging rack available
 
 Upstairs: - Landing room with an office that serves 4 bedrooms and a bathroom
 - Bedroom 1: with 160 cm bed and desk, double duvet
 - Bedroom 2: very small bedroom but overlooking the garden with a 140 cm bed, double duvet
 - Bedroom 3: this is the children's room with two bunk beds (only for children under 11 years old) and two single beds in 80 x 200 cm, so 4 beds in total with 4 single duvets
 - Bedroom 4: 160 cm bed, double duvet - Bathroom with bathtub, toilet and sink - You need to bring your own bed linen and towels. For bed linens, bring pillowcases, bed sheets (4 x single beds of 80 x 200, two double beds of 160 x 220, one double bed of 140 x 220), duvet covers (4 single and 3 double). Pillows and duvets are provided. - Baby cot + high chair: free but to ask
 - Electric heaters are turned off from mid April to mid October. If the evenings are cool, use the wood burning stove, it heats the house quickly and there is wood, paper and firelighters available. No pets are allowed in the house.

 There are regularly sheep in the garden, they are they who mow the garden, if they are there, please be careful to close the small wooden gate because the sheep must stay in the pasture and not come to the garden part that is right in front of the house. 

No shoes in the house: at the entrance there is a trunk with slippers, and in the laundry room there are boots and clogs for the slush, serve yourself!

 Check-in after 4pm and checkout before 12pm.

 Reservations for groups or groups of people under the age of 25 are not allowed. The organization of student parties, stag or drink parties in this house is prohibited. Beautiful walks to do from the house on foot or by bike (example the Jeantes loop, Bancigny, Plomion, Nigaudiere lake, Jeantes
), forest not 
very far towards the Sablonière, fortified churches of the Thierache, Parfondeval, most beautiful village in France, 25 minutes by car from the lake of the Motte pond with beach and swimming allowed, very pleasant in summer!... Restaurant: La Table de Maya in Aubenton (13 km), towards a pleasant forest where you can stroll around La Haye d'Aubenton. Shopping: 15-20 minutes from Jeantes by car: Hirson (Auchan, Leclerc supermarkets, gas station, train station...), Saint Michel (very good bakery and butcher shop). The garden is fenced. There's a ping pong table, bicycles, darts and archery, a badminton net, and a barbecue. You can also simply read a book in the sun or take a nap in the hammock! Enjoy long summer evenings around a large table under the covered terrace, or play chess or other board games in the living room while watching the fire crackle in the stove! We live in Brussels with our two children who are in Dutch-speaking school. This is our country home for holidays or weekends. Notes: - You must bring your own bed linen and towels.
