Description
A true retreat to the woods where you are welcome to shed literally everything at the door. The Glass House is located within the grounds of a venerable old family nudist club in Valparaiso, Indiana. The space The Glass House is essentially a studio with glass walls nearly all around, warm travertine floors and a serene classical vibe. It's a private dwelling within the grounds of a gated nudist community. Important to note: While nudity is optional at The Glass House, nudity is required in all common areas of the club. Most people come here so they can be nude. If you are new to social nudity, you'll find this is the ideal place to dip your toes in the water. 'Observers' make everyone uncomfortable. Just jump in! The House: The full kitchen has a new induction range, a gas grill just outside, electric kettle, toaster, coffee makers (drip, espresso), dishwasher, fridge/freezer A dining table seats 4. A cherry desk outlines the workspace and has a distracting view of Sager's Lake and the Causeway - the land bridge between the South and North sides of the lake. The queen-sized Murphy bed tucks away to offer extra day-time floor space, if desired. An enclosed bath with shower and bidet is at the center of the open floor plan. Your host Jill lives in the geodesic dome just next door. All residents of Lake O' The Woods are nudists and respect each others' privacy. Photography is not allowed on the grounds. By electric golf cart (included in your rental of the Glass House) or by foot on the wooded trails you can get to and from the amenities at the LOWC Clubhouse without leaving the grounds. With a Grounds Pass you'll have access to a heated pool (85 degrees F), spa (103 degrees F), a sparkling new cedar-lined sauna, two beaches, lots of watercraft (a Sunfish sailboat, paddle boards, canoes), fishing (bring your own gear), self-serve ice cream and sodas, weekend lunch grill, rousing games of volleyball on water or sand, aqua fitness, yoga on the sand court, plus plenty of fun conversation and opportunities to relax. If you seek a quieter sundeck and sandy beach experience, the East Pier is a shorter ride, or a few minutes walk. We'll provide a map, but it's fun to get a little bit lost! Guest access Our guests have the entire Glass House, its lawn and terrace, to themselves, and nudity is optional on our private property. By June the trees have leafed out enough to provide natural outdoor privacy. Because The Glass House is located within the grounds of a nonprofit nudist resort, we abide by the board's rule that our guests are required to obtain a Grounds Pass for access to Lake O' The Woods amenities for the duration of their stay. Passes range from 40/60 USD per day per single, per couple, or per family. When you arrive, see the club's Gatekeeper (North Gate, 1353 Sager Rd) to register before checking in with your Airbnb host. The Grounds Pass gives you access to 200+ acres, including a heated pool, sauna, hot tub, beaches, trails, the lake, sundecks, events, use of clubhouse, community, etc. and nudity is required at all of these commonly shared areas. Other things to note We like not having to think about clothes and what to wear, especially in warm weather. Doing the usual things -- gardening, walking, cooking, swimming, just puttering about -- but doing them naked . . . there's nothing like it! Call us nudists or naturists, but know that we do not equate nudity with sex: 'swingers' are not what this club is about. Give a close reading to the Club's rules regarding behavior, sexual or otherwise, that the Gatekeeper will give you when you register! This is a place that's quite a bit outside of the mainstream world, where you may practice accepting your body as it is right now no matter its hue or size or condition.
