Nestled within our working farm, The Roosting Place offers a unique and tranquil retreat. This charming apartment is located inside our main shop building. We your hosts, are permanent residents in an adjacent farm house. Enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, bird watching, or simply wandering the grounds to connect with nature. Only 14 minutes to Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant and about 25 mins to beautiful Lake Texoma! Guest access You'll enjoy exclusive access to the entire, well-appointed apartment, along with shared access to our beautiful outdoor spaces. We do live in the adjacent home and will be in and out during your stay. Other things to note Welcome to Life on Our Active Farm! Get ready to immerse yourself in the genuine rhythm of farm life! Our property is home to free-range chickens and a couple of friendly outdoor cats and "Tom" our maltipoo, who often greet our guests. For those who choose to explore, a tranquil walk to our pond area might bring you face-to-face with our happy pigs, goats, geese, dogs, and even a horse! While our beloved animals are generally friendly and love visitors, please remember they are still farm animals. We kindly ask that you observe them calmly and respectfully. For the safety and well-being of both our guests and our animals, we also request that you always keep gates securely closed when enjoying the farm grounds or interacting with the animals, and please be mindful of any posted signs regarding animal interaction. If you enter the pasture area with the farm animals you are doing so at your own risk as we are not responsible for accidents. The Sounds of the Countryside: While our farm country retreat offers deep tranquility, please be aware that we are within earshot of an active train track. You may occasionally hear a train horn, a fleeting sound that we feel simply blends into the authentic rhythm of the countryside. A Small Comfort Request: To help us keep the upstairs carpet soft and pristine for all our guests, we kindly ask that you remove your shoes before heading up to the bedroom. This retreat is envisioned as a quiet haven for those seeking a tranquil country experience. Therefore, we respectfully request no parties, allowing everyone to fully enjoy this secluded spot and 'roost well' during their stay.
