Cozy cabin in Lac Ste Anne County surrounded by nature The space Welcome to Poplar Place, a tranquil escape in a one-of-a-kind cozy cabin on private acreage surrounded by farmland and nature. The back 5 acres are for guests only. You have a private forest with walking trails right behind the cabin just for you to enjoy! The cabin has been custom-built with rest and relaxation in mind. Unique details like live edge beams and antique barnwood accent walls and other charming touches throughout. This space has been meticulously designed to comfortably sleep four adults in the two separate open-air lofts, with 6ft ceilings in the center, each with a queen bed and luxury linens. For your comfort, the space is fully insulated and suitable for year-round use. Inside is a mix of rustic, country chic with modern comfort, and some antique décor and furnishings.  Light a cozy fire in the woodstove in the colder months and watch the snow fall. Appreciate a sunset on the deck with a nice glass of wine. Enjoy a campfire and star gaze and listen to the coyotes sing in the distance on a beautiful summer night. There is firewood in the small shed beside the cabin. A handsaw is provided as you are welcome to collect dead fall from the forest as there is lots. The full 12 acre property features mature poplar and spruce trees and a few walking paths. Discover birds, watch the cows graze in the neighboring pastures. See the squirrels leap from tree to tree and occasionally see a fox, coyote, or deer. Relax in the hammock with a cup of tea or waste away the afternoon on the swing with a good book. Enjoy a slower morning with coffee from the French press and farm fresh eggs from the resident hens, available for purchase. The outdoor shower is big enough for two with plenty of hot water. Towels are provided. The shower will be open again on April 24th for the season. The outdoor kitchen area is fully equipped to cook your meals and enjoy nature at the same time. It's equipped with a large prep area, a propane bbq. Perfect for grilling steak! Also, a propane powered oven with 2 burners, fire pokers for campfire cooking. A large 4 person patio table on the deck for enjoying a yummy meal! The indoor kitchen area has everything you will need, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, serving dishes, a mini fridge, a toaster, a hot and cold drinking water dispenser, a french press, a tea pot and a sink for washing dishes. Foil and plastic wrap, napkins, cooking spray, salt & pepper, coffee, tea, creamer and sugar are all stocked up too. The outhouse is only a short walk from the cabin. Flashlights are provided for an evening visit. Plus, solar lights to light the path along the way. We are just a short 5 minute drive to Chickacoo Lake and Salter Lake complete with endless walking trails and fishing. Alberta Beach is only 10 minutes away. They have an excellent farmers market on Sundays in the summer. Onoway only a 7 minute drive away has a small grocery store, gas station, a couple restaurants, liquor store, pharmacy and post office, etc. Nearby Stony Plain and Spruce Grove are just a 15-minute drive and have all conveniences and amenities of city life, including restaurants, fast food, shopping, leisure centers, ice rinks, and spas and much more. The cabin is so cozy that you will feel like you are a million miles away. Yet, you’re close enough to Edmonton for excursions of everything you could wish for, yet far enough away to feel completely secluded and relaxed in an off-grid experience. And enjoy wifi for any steaming or working needs. There is a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime connected on our guest account in one of the lofts to curl up and watch a movie. The farm stand is now from April to late October! It's open 24/7 for cabin guests and is self-serve. We accept cash or etransfer. We feature local artisans. Plus, a variety of yummy treats. Perfect place to get an frozen treat on a hot day! Farm fresh eggs and produce is seasonally available. Fresh baked goods almost daily! We have a flock of 28 including 27 hens and 1 rooster named Biggie. We also have 4 minature Nigerian dwarf goats, Fozzy, Everett, Oscar and Grover and 2 pygmy goats named Tom & Jerry and a 2 mini Ponies, Ginger and Buttercup and 5 baby ducks. They are very friendly! You are welcome to say hello! Please keep out of their pens/yards. They are always happy to say hello at the fence. There is animal treats available for a small fee in the farmstand if you wish to feed the animals. All the animals are located on the front of the property which is acres away from the cabin. Guest access To provide ample privacy for guests, the back 5 acres are for guests only. The main house is a large meadow, two tree lines, and a seasonal creek away. Guest have full access to the back 5 acres as well as all the aminal pens up front. At the very back of property there is a yellow rope line showing where our property ends. Please stay within our property lines and enjoy the walking paths. Guests are more than welcome to come up and visit the animals anytime they wish during your stay. Please make yourself at home! Other things to note The Details *Please don't hesitate to contact us prior to booking as we are happy to answer any questions you may have* Sorry, no pets. There are two dogs that live on the property. They are mostly inside dogs and never wander the back of the property. It's best to keep the front door of the cabin closed to keep any bugs out. All the windows have screens for fresh air. We will have wifi for all your streaming and work needs. There is a smart TV in one of the lofts to curl up and watch a movie. Netflix and Amazon Prime are both connected and ready to watch on our guest account. Firewood is always stocked up! The woodstove is the only heat source, and it's up to you to keep it going. We are happy to start a fire before you arrive. Please let us know and we will get one going for you. Gumboots are a must in early spring as the ground is thawing, and things can get muddy. The only toilet is an outhouse. Absolutely, no cooking inside the cabin. The shower is outdoors and seasonal. It's opens from early spring to early fall. Opening for the season April 24th. We have upgraded the shower system from last year! If you smoke. Please do so outside and dispose of your butts in the container you provide, and please take them with you when you leave. Please leave the property as you found it. We open the main gate in the morning and close it each night. Please come and go as you please. Guest parking is located beside the cabin for your convenience. You can pull right up to the cabin steps to unload then park. Please keep your campfire small and never leave unattended and ensure it's fully out before retiring for the night. If there is an existing county fire ban or strong winds, fires are not permitted. We will keep guests updated. The outdoor shower is fully operational in the warmer months. April to October. Quiet time is between 11pm and 8am as noted by our county bylaws. If you are enjoying your evening later in the summer. Please keep music on the lower level.
