Jungle Dome on a farm in Burlington! Enjoy a tropical stay in our 500 square foot geodesic dome “glamping” greenhouse dwelling! Sleeps 4. Complete with a fish and turtle pond and filled to the brim with tropical plants! Designed to be a tropical vacation getaway when you can’t get away to the tropics! Situated on a 5 acre animal farm where guests can feed and interact with goats, horses, highland cows, sheep, pigs and poultry. An Animal Lovers Dream! The space Our one a kind geodesic dome greenhouse has been artfully transformed into the perfect temperature controlled tropical living space! There is a spacious loft bedroom with a queen size bed. Pull out couch, living and dining area and kitchenette and a brand new beautiful three piece fully private bathroom just steps away down a private path in its own separate private building. Complete with a private outdoor patio with seating and a private entrance. Perfect for a couples getaway or a family one of kind experience! Infants (under 2 years old) stay for free. Guest access There is parking space directly in front of the dome our dome quests. Entry to the domes private patio is through a gate on the left side of the dome. There are two fenced in pastures within 60 feet of the dome. Dome guests can see and spend time with the many friendly farm animals that come up to the fence at anytime during their stay. The washroom for the dome is not inside the dome. It is a fully private 30 step walk from the dome entrance. For safety and insurance reasons, besides Uber or take out delivery, only people that have booked a stay will be permitted onto the farm property on inside the dome. Other things to note The nightly price for our Dome stay is a base price for up to two guests. This is so that our Dome stay is more affordable for couples and solo traveller’s. There is a small additional fee for each additional guest for up to 4 guests. Please note that The Jungle Dome does not have hot water. There is a pump sink with cold water for washing dishes and hands and for drinking water. The bathroom for the dome is in a separate building just a few steps away from the dome, it has heating/ac, a shower, sink and toilet with hot and cold water. The dome is going to be bright when the sun comes up and there is no dark area until the sun goes down as it is a greenhouse style structure. During the summer months the A/C is not able to keep the dome cool during the peak sun hours. The dome has three large high speed fans as well as four exhaust fans for temperature control. While all the plants help temper the heat, the dome can still be very warm inside when the sun is overhead. For this reason guests may want to spend time outside of the dome on the private patio during extreme heat. The dome is has a wood deck floor that is built directly on top of earth. The ground needs to breathe in order for the dome to function properly so for that reason at times when staying in the dome you may notice bits of earth coming up through the small gaps in the floor. As this is considered more of a “glamping” experience, we cannot guarantee there will be no insects inside our around the dome. During cold months, the temperature inside the dome fluctuates with the amount of sun. There is a heat pump and additional space heaters as well as extra blankets available. The floor of the dome is never cold because of geothermal heat. At times there may be some condensation in the dome and it may drip slightly here and there. The head height under the mezzanine couch area of the dome is 6ft. The upper mezzanine area has areas with limited head height. The access to the mezzanine is custom built stairs that have areas of limited head height. The rest of the dome including the dining area, kitchen and surrounding the mezzanine have unlimited head height. The upper level of the dome has only rope as a barrier so although the dome is family friendly, children should be supervised at all times. Although the dome is thoroughly cleaned and all linens replaced after each stay, we ask guests to please keep in mind we do not charge a cleaning fee as the staying in the dome is more akin to a unique once in a lifetime camping experience than a hotel stay. Guests are advised to purchase travel insurance or to book their stay using a credit card that offers travel insurance as our cancellation fee is firm and we do not issue refunds for cancellations outside of the parameters of our policy. Guests are able to request use of the fire pit on the property but if the weather is windy or there is a fire ban we cannot allow fires due to the risk of it spreading.
