Step back in time and enjoy a stay in this historic 1746 colonial home, just two miles from the town Oval. Experience the character of early American life with original features like the cooking fireplace, extra-wide floorboards, and countless preserved original details. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a unique getaway, this one-of-a-kind home offers a true taste of colonial living with modern comfort. Please read the "Other details to note" before booking. The space This property is two floors whereby the first floor includes the kitchen, living room, dining/game room, half bath, and one bedroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. This home comfortably sleeps six in beds. Each of the three bedrooms has a full size mattress. We have cots/air mattresses for two more guests. We also provide a portable crib and high chair for young children. Off of the dining/game room there is a Patio that can be rented for an additional charge of $500. This can seat up to 40 people where you can have a family reunion, birthday, holiday party, or other gathering. Please note that only 8 people can sleep at the AirBnb, but you can have guests up to 40 for daytime and evening visits if you rent the patio. Guest access The home will be your private space for your stay. Access to the 5 acres of flower gardens, green spaces, trails, and natural spring pond dependent on other bookings on site. Please inquire before your stay. Other buildings and tented areas on site are not accessible unless rented separately. All of the space inside the home you can use except for the crawl spaces on the second floor and the basement. Please do not enter the crawl spaces or basement. When you have read this please send us a message that says you understand the guest access rules. Thank you! Other things to note While children are welcome, guests who are booking for a family with children must read a lead information sheet prior to arrival as this property was built prior to 1978. As mentioned, this is an older property and as such contains some lead paint specifically around the windows and doors. You can read about the EPA’s booklet about lead online on their website and we have their booklet printed on site. We will ask you to sign a lead disclosure form before your stay. We will ask if you make a reservation with children that you acknowledge in the messaging app that you understand these risks and agree to sign the disclosure form. We understand if learning this information you decide to cancel. Please, we ask you to cancel your reservation immediately. We will not cancel it for you as canceling on guests is frowned upon by AirBnb and will negatively affect our profile. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
