The space Casita del Mar is a breezy, open-air home with a traditional palm-thatched roof, designed for those who appreciate simplicity, comfort, and a natural setting. Outdoor Spaces (Front): * Gentle, cooling breeze. * A small tropical garden with two hammocks — perfect for napping, reading, or simply swaying in the shade. * Outdoor freshwater shower to wash off the salt and sand. * Lounge area with a couch, cushions, and table — a great spot to gather, sip a drink, or enjoy a meal. Inside the Casita: * Functional kitchen with a 3-burner stove, fridge, drinking water, and all the essentials for easy cooking. * Eating area with a table and four chairs. * Also an eating area upstairs on the balcony or downstairs on the patio. * Private bathroom with a freshwater shower and towels for indoor use (please bring your own towel for the beach). * A few games and activities for beachside fun. Back Area (by the Gate): * Private parking space suitable for a standard-size car. Upper Level: * Our guests favourite balcony with three chairs — the perfect perch for enjoying sunrises, sunsets, meals, or quiet moments overlooking the waves. * Two sleeping spaces: one with a double bed, the other with a queen. * Both beds feature mosquito nets and a fan. While there’s no air-conditioning, the sea breeze and fans keep the nights comfortable. Guest access the whole space Other things to note Good to Know 🛖Casita del Mar is not a luxury stay — it’s comfortable, simple and made for those who love the easy rhythm of a beachfront stay. 🌊 El Paredón looks like a developed town today, but its growth has mainly happened in recent years. As in many parts of Guatemala, occasional electricity outages or temporary water interruptions can still occur. We always do our best to minimize any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. 🦟We recommend bringing mosquito repellent, especially during the rainy season when mosquitoes are more common (and occasionally on dry days too). 🙈 And on rare occasions, you might encounter sandflies — tiny and hard to see, but your skin will let you know with small, itchy red spots. It’s part of the tropical experience, but being prepared makes it easier. ☔During the rainy months, you’ll need to use the plastic curtains on the balcony to keep yourself and the space dry when storms roll in.
