Tucked into a quiet hillside neighborhood just above downtown Hood River, this peaceful retreat is a hidden gem. From the private deck, take in sweeping views of the Columbia River and surrounding hills. This spacious, light-filled guest suite with separate entrance and deck offers the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and proximity to the heart of Hood River. Downtown is just an 8 to 10-minute walk away, giving you easy access to shops, dining, and local attractions. STR license #815 The space The space is ideal for one or two adults, and possibly an additional child. The private entrance includes a deck with sitting area that views the Columbia River including the marina, event site, and Washington hills. Trees and foliage create a natural buffer from the neighboring single family homes. From inside the suite, the view is ever present from the spacious living room with Roku TV, dining area, and well-equipped kitchenette. At the rear of the suite is a sleeping nook with a comfortable queen bed (hybrid mattress and quality linens), dresser, small closet, and light-blocking curtains. A comfortable extra-wide twin rollaway bed with 5” memory foam mattress is also available. There is a full bathroom with tub and shower. An easy-to-use, dedicated AC/heating system ensures your comfort year-round. USB charging ports are located in bedroom and living room. High speed WiFi throughout. Guest access The suite is located on the lower level of our hillside home and is accessed via two sets of outdoor stairs and a gravel path. Please note that you’ll need to navigate these steps with your belongings. (Photos provide more detail on the access.) A keyless lock is provided at the entrance. Other things to note The trailhead for the Indian Creek trail is just a block from the home. This scenic and well-maintained trail - which is popular with joggers and walkers - connects our neighborhood with the Hood River Heights and the commercial area of upper Hood River. Enjoy a morning or evening hike/walk just steps from your door. Downtown, which is an 8-10 minute walk away, you will find plenty of restaurants, boutiques, and beer and wine tasting opportunities. Please note that the walk to and from town is hilly. For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, we have external security cameras located at the entrance to the main house and the entrance to the guest suite. We keep the sound turned off.
