Hilltop Guesthouse,Historic Silver Spur Dance Hall

The Guesthouse is one of four solid rock cottages on the grounds of the historic Silver Spur Dance Hall! This unique property offers a peaceful getaway set atop Rugh Hill. The dancehall provides an amazing view overlooking the Medina River and the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera, Tx. Woven into the storied fabric of Bandera and the Texas Hill Country, the Silver Spur Dancehall is a place of legend and lore, and once the hottest spot for a Saturday night twirl on the dance floor. The space Enjoy the roominess of the Guesthouse which includes a fully equipped kitchen, covered patio, and washer-dryer. The separate bathroom has a walk-in shower and a large closet with an ironing board for your convenience. Relax for a visit in the living room on the leather recliner-couch and queen size futon which can be used for extra sleeping accommodation. Rest comfortably in the separate bedroom featuring a king size bed and bay window overlooking the Medina River. Step out on the patio for morning coffee and enjoy the sunrise, before setting out to explore Bandera and the Texas Hill Country. The Guesthouse is located on Rugh Hill above the Medina River, allowing for a peaceful stay while being less than a mile from town for shopping, restaurants, and all the happenings. Guest access In addition to the Guesthouse and all its amenities, guests may access the original Silver Spur Dance Hall from the back side of the historic Rugh house. The house and dancehall stood as a ruin for the past 40+ years until restoration work began in 2023. Please pardon our dust as we continue the restoration effort. The list of things to do is extensive and we are completing work as quickly as possible. Check out the view from the dance hall floor (selfie-time!). Imagine yourself in the 1940s and 50s, twirling around the dance floor listening to one of the famous bands and singers that once played here! Feel free to explore the grounds, and please be careful of construction areas. There may be guests staying in the other cottages so please be respectful of others space and privacy. Other things to note We are located on a dead-end road, so no through traffic and no streetlights allow our guests to enjoy peace and quiet, and dark skies for awesome stargazing! We ask that you are courteous and respectful of guests in the other cottages by keeping noise to a minimum and turning off lights late at night. Let us know if you will be arriving after sunset so we can leave some lights on for you.
