Cosy Retreat in Hepburn Springs

Slow House is a light-filled, cosy retreat made for slowing down. Tucked behind our restored Californian bungalow, it’s a private space with a king bed, wood fire, bathtub, garden views and everything you need to unwind. Walk to local cafes, soak in the mineral springs, or do absolutely nothing at all. It’s calm, comfortable and quietly connected to nature - the kind of place you’ll want to come back to. The space Slow House is all about comfort and calm. Inside, you’ll find an open-plan lounge and kitchen with a wood fire, split system heating and cooling, a generous bedroom with a king bed and wardrobe, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a tub perfect for long soaks. For cosy nights in, there’s a Frame TV with Bose soundbar and a couch you can sink into, ideal for indulgent movie marathons or curling up with a book by the fire. The kitchen comes stocked with the basics, and you’ll have a private driveway for easy access. Outside, garden views set the scene for slow mornings and quiet afternoons. Step straight onto the Goldfields Track, wander down to Spring Creek for a little nature bathing, or stroll to local cafes, mineral springs and day spas. Or simply do nothing at all , Slow House is made for it. Please note: The studio is located behind our family home, but is fully self-contained and private. We’ll leave you to it unless you need us. Guest access You’ll have the entire Slow House studio to yourself, with a private entrance and driveway for easy arrival. The space is fully self-contained, so you can come and go as you please. We’re close by in the main house if you need us, otherwise we’ll leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. Other things to note Slow House is on Dja Dja Wurrung country, just 1.5 hours from Melbourne. Hepburn Springs is home to Australia’s largest concentration of mineral springs, including the iconic Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa and the Mineral Springs Hotel Spa, both just a 15-minute walk away. You’ll also find local favourites like Cafe Lotte, The Surly Goat, The Virgin Cafe and the Hepburn General Store all within easy walking distance. The neighbouring town of Daylesford is just five minutes by car, full of charm and character. Enjoy brunch at Cliffy’s or Wombat Hill House, browse the weekend market, visit The Convent for tea and scones, or linger over lunch at Bar Merenda, The Daylesford Hotel or Bistro Terroir. And be sure to take a stroll around Lake Daylesford before you leave.
