5 minutes from Middlebury campus, take it easy at this unique and peaceful getaway. Well appointed home on a large private property for you to enjoy porch time, grilling dinner, and making s’mores around the fire. Enjoy the charm of an old farmhouse with all the modern comforts. Close to hiking trails, local farms, lakes and rivers. Verdant views in all directions from the home inspire slow paced tranquility. Enjoy the best of country living so close to Middlebury shops and restaurants! The space This home has original floor boards and a narrow, steep staircase so upstairs is squeaky/creaky and sure footed renters are a must. There is only one full bath with shower over tub upstairs so 6 guests is definitely max. This property has a well so basic water conservation is important. We do not have whole house air conditioning. We have an air con heat pump unit in the main living space which makes downstairs comfortable. All bedrooms have two windows with screens. Open windows and maybe a fan is almost always comfortable, but there are window AC units available for guest use. These are stored in the attic. Guest access The entire house is your to enjoy except inside the small hutch at front entrance. The basement is also off limits to guests. The attic is finished but unfurnished. This space can be used for exercise or storage during your stay. The laundry area is located inside the large upstairs bathroom. Other things to note This is country living and pests like mice, spiders and other insects are part of life. We do our best to keep them at bay but your tolerance and understanding is necessary. Doors and windows without screens should not be left open.
