Classic Mill Valley A Frame
This house is in the 'flat section' of mill valley called Sycamore Park. Its a cozy A frame that's well-suited for a family and offers a nice large backyard. The house sits on a short two block street with plenty of parking. You can walk to the main part of town, bike from here to San Francisco, hike one of our numerous trails, or just relax. Within a six block radius there are two Whole Food stores and at least a dozen restaurants. We just added a hot tub to the backyard! There is a short driveway and carport in the front. You enter into the kitchen and living room area there are three bedrooms on this level and a bathroom. There is an outside set of stairs up to a roof deck overlooking Mt. Tam and the backyard. On the deck is a bbq grill, firepit with lounge chairs for 6-8 people and large table for outdoor seating (8 people) and a heater. The master bedroom and home office on the upper level is accessed via a steel circular staircase inside or sliding glass door onto the deck. The backyard is accessed via outside stairs down to a multi-level backyard featuring a number of activities including a hot tub, trampoline and bocce court. Please Note: There is a small apartment underneath the house with its own separate entrance that is rented on a temporary basis. Guests have access to a grassy shared backyard with a hot tub, bocce court, zipline, aerial yoga swing, hammock and trampoline. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer also downstairs. I sometimes stay in the unit below the house or on my boat nearby in Sausalito if there is a guest in the house. Nestled below majestic Mt. Tamalpais, Mill Valley is reminiscent of a charming European village. Surrounded by national parks, including Muir Woods, an ancient coast redwood forest, Mill Valley’s lush landscape of hills and canyons is a favorite place for visitors who enjoy hiking, mountain biking, golf and running. Two national financial magazines, MONEY and CNN/Money, recently named Mill Valley as one of the 10 top cities in America in which to live. They noted that millionaires and well-known names in the film and music industries, like Bonnie Raitt, Bob Weir and Sammy Hagar, make their homes in this quaint community. Downtown activities center around Lytton Square, where people gather for coffee at the Book Depot Café or for a game of chess while conducting some serious people-watching. Fashionable boutiques and restaurants fill the downtown. Sweetwater, one of the top roots music clubs in the nation, is well-known for its live musical performances and famous guest musicians who occasionally “drop in” for an evening to improvise. Most of the guests here drive but there are bus stops into SF two blocks away on Miller or Blithedale. If you have a small pet then you must take it with you during the day. the neighbors are sensitive to dogs barking incessantly.
