"Sumiya coiwai" is a one-story house on a small hill, a 53-year-old traditional house that has been renovated by DIY. I renovated my vacant family home for about 5 years, It opened in April 2025 as a private lodging that combines the "goodness of an old house" with "modern comfort". Rice fields as far as the eye can see, the changing seasons of the mountains, the starry sky... Enjoy a quiet and relaxing time that you can't experience in tourist spots. It has the most golf courses in the prefecture and is also used as a training camp. You can also enjoy a sauna with a heat wave and a barbecue as an option. ーーーーーーー The space ⚠️ This is a "landlord-residential" private accommodation. We, the hosts, live with our cat. The host couple also stays in the staff room in the inn, and rooms other than the guest bedroom are shared. You will have many opportunities to interact with the host couple, so please understand this before making a reservation. Please be aware that although it is limited to one group, many people mistake it for renting the entire building. (Please check the floor plan in the image) ⚠️ Because it is a place rich in nature, insects may appear both outside and inside except in winter. We are taking as many measures as possible, but please understand and call the host if you need any help. ------ ■ Bedrooms The bedroom is a fusion of Japanese and Nordic styles. With 5 20 cm thick mattresses and 1 double sofa bed, it can accommodate up to 7 people. ■ Living room It is an old-fashioned tatami room with a sunken kotatsu. The owner and the cat may be there, but you can use it for meals and gatherings. ■ Kitchen Full flat kitchen with induction stove. You can purchase fresh ingredients at roadside stations, supermarkets, etc., and enjoy cooking. We also recommend luxury yakiniku with local Japanese beef "Hitachi beef" and "Mizuho beef". * We do not provide food * Microwave and toaster are also available. Please let us know when you use the condiments, shared kitchen refrigerator/freezer. ※ Feel free to use the cookware, chopsticks, cutlery, plates, cups, etc. ■ Bathroom The bath has a ceiling made of cypress from Ibaraki Prefecture. It has a 5.5 tatami laundry room. In addition to a washing machine and dryer, we also provide amenities such as towels, toothbrushes, lotion, emulsion, cleansing oil, and hair irons. * There is also a hot bath facility about 15 minutes away by car ■ Toilet There is a bidet toilet for your use. ■ Tent sauna (optional) You can use the tent sauna with a wood stove. (+ 6,000 yen/night) * Swimwear required. * Please contact us at the time of booking if you would like to use the tent sauna. We can also offer an outdoor experience with a qualified owner. ■ BBQ You can enjoy a barbecue in the backyard. There are some places where the DIY is incomplete, such as in the hallway and part of the entrance. We don't think it will be an inconvenience during your stay, but please note that it is not suitable for guests who are looking for perfection and super comfort. ーーーーーー Guest access Please refrain from entering the staff room. If you need any help during your stay, please let the owner know. * We can also discuss dinner and sightseeing plans if you wish. If you are interested in living in the countryside or renovating, please feel free to contact us! * Children under 2 years of age stay for free, but futons and beds are shared with adults. We do not provide futons or cribs for children, so please bring your own if needed. * During your stay, you may be affected by the external environment, such as construction noise in the surrounding area, the sounds of neighboring residents, and temporary smells. These are events outside the facility and cannot be managed by the facility, so we cannot provide refunds or discounts for these reasons.
