The space Our cozy, second floor guestroom is perfect for a solo traveler or couple, featuring queen sized bed, private entrance, balcony and private bathroom. Relax in the shared backyard oasis with hammock, lounge furniture, garden and our friendly pet chickens. Within walking distance you will find a neighborhood pub, restaurants, shopping mall and groceries. Conveniently located near the State Fair and colleges Hamline, Bethel, U of M St Paul campus. 5 minute drive to Como Lake with walking paths, golf course and gorgeous conservatory. It’s a great home base for your St Paul/Minneapolis visit, in a convenient neighborhood, with quick access to many major freeways. Walk to the MN State Fair, shops and restaurants. Wake up on your first morning to complimentary tea or coffee. The small kitchenette has: + mini fridge + microwave + drip coffee maker + hot water kettle + cutlery, glassware, dishes + coffee and tea condiments Sleeping: + premium plush Queen mattress + quality bedding with down pillows and comforter + down alternative bedding also provided Bathroom: + shower + towels provided + complimentary toiletries + hairdryer Helpful Items: + clothes hangers + iron/ironing board + free wifi + HDTV, log into your own streaming accounts to watch tv PARKING: Parking is on-street, free and abundant for standard sized vehicles and pickups. HOWEVER: our neighborhood DOES NOT permit large vehicles like RVs, campers, vehicles towing trailers, box trucks, etc. You will need to make other parking arrangements outside of the neighborhood if arriving with a non-standard vehicle to avoid a ticket and tow! QUIRKY LITTLE THINGS TO BE AWARE OF BEFORE YOU BOOK: With so many Airbnb offerings in the city, you should choose the best one that fits all of your needs instead of picking one that "sort of" works. We provide detailed description and accurate photos so you can be confident your expectations will be met (or conclude that continuing your search would be better). So, full disclosure- + You are booking a room on the SECOND floor in our home that we live in + You will access the guestroom's private entrance by climbing an EXTERIOR spiral staircase. + Our 1940s era home may not be as cool as you prefer in the summer nor as warm as you like in the winter, unlike new construction homes. To add extra comfort, we provide guests with a portable AC unit, two ceiling fans, and a space heater + We will be living and working below you, as well as enjoying our backyard garden. However, we do not share any indoor spaces with you - your guestroom and restroom are completely private. The guestroom is well soundproofed, so you might not even hear us! + SOFA: it isn't meant for sleeping. As mentioned, this space is geared toward solo travelers or a "couple". If you book with plans to sleep on the sofa you will be disappointed. + KITCHEN: There is no access to a full kitchen. + VISITORS are not permitted at any time, even just for a peek our quick visit. We recommend selecting one of the many nearby cafes, restaurants or parks to meet up with your people. + TV: Log in to your own pre-paid streaming accounts + The person booking the room must also be present as a guest. We do not permit booking on behalf of others. + PARKING: be sure to read up on our parking restrictions for large vehicles before booking our place! Guest access Access to the guest room is across a mulched pathway, through the garden gate and up an exterior spiral staircase (and you may be greeted by our friendly pet chickens). During your stay The second floor guest room and balcony are yours to enjoy exclusively. You may encounter a locked storage closet/cabinet that will be off limits, which we ask guests to please respect. Although this is our personal home and we live and work here, we respect your desire to relax and refresh. When outdoors sharing the garden/ground level patio spaces, you're welcome to interact with us as little or as much you wish! If we're not home, we're always a text, call or Airbnb message away and respond quickly. Other things to note In addition to Airbnb's booking terms, by booking our guestroom you agree to the following: + Booking guest must be 25 years of age or older + Maximum occupancy of 2 guests + Visitors are not permitted at any time, even just for a quick visit or peek, even if it’s family or a close friend. Please meet up with your people elsewhere. + The person booking the room must be present as a guest. We do not permit booking the room on behalf of others. Instead, please have them create their own Airbnb account and make the booking. + Quiet Time is 10pm - 9am + SMOKING IS PROHIBITED in the house and on the entire property, including vaping and marijuana. If smoking is discovered, we reserve the right to immediately terminate your reservation, with no refund to you, plus smoke abatement cleaning fee of $250 + PARKING: be sure to read up on our parking restrictions for large vehicles before booking to avoid a ticket and tow!
