Characterful dike house by nature & water

The Zwarte Schuur is a unique vacation home with a rich history. The property once served as a storage place for dike guards who guarded the dike and has now been transformed into an attractive and comfortable stay. Inside you will find a bright living space with modern amenities, a fully equipped kitchen and cozy seating area. The combination of robust beams, warm materials and contemporary decor creates an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. The space Welcome to De Zwarte Schuur – a unique place on the historic West Frisian Omringdijk, where peace, space and style come together. From the front, you can look out over the dike, while at the back, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Markermeer. Upstairs is a beautiful open space with a cozy lounge area and a workspace with panoramic views over the water – the perfect place to relax or get creative. The spacious master bedroom exudes tranquility and comfort, while the two cozy king-size beds are a nod to the past, but with the convenience of today. The modern bathroom completes the floor. Downstairs, the large living kitchen forms the heart of the house: a wonderful place to cook, dine and enjoy together. At the back, the cozy sitting area with pellet stove invites you to relax with a good glass of wine or a book. The Zwarte Schuur is the ideal base for those who love atmospheric design, comfort and the charm of the Dutch countryside – with the Markermeer literally around the corner. Other things to note The Zwarte Schuur has been restored very recently and is cherished by us as an important heritage. For that reason, we do not receive groups of young people here. Other groups in consultation. The Zwarte Schuur is located on the edge of a nature reserve on the dike and is suitable for peace seekers and only for adults. 
We have restored and redecorated the building with great care and love. We therefore ask for respect for our house and the nature around it. Smoking and pets are unfortunately not allowed. If anything is damaged or broken, please let us know. We will then discuss how to compensate for this. We are still working on the fence of the outdoor space so that we can eventually also safely receive families with very small children.
