Charming Ocean Retreat
Charming Ocean Retreat
Description
Perched on a hill overlooking the Aspotogan Cove, this lovingly restored 150-year-old family home offers everything you might need for a relaxing peaceful retreat. The backyard opens onto four acres of trails - perfect for mountain biking and hiking - and Bayswater Beach, one of the exquisite beaches on the South Shore, is only five minutes away. The beautifully appointed chef’s kitchen invites culinary play, and an extensive collection of games, books and movies will keep you well entertained. The space We bought this house in 2017 as a gathering place for our wide-spread family. We have always dreamed of owning an Oceanside home on the east coast of Canada, and we are excited to share it with you. It is a place of gathering, connecting and sharing, where friends and family can come together to refuel, step away from the demands of everyday life, and build lasting memories together. The open concept kitchen, living and dining room invite conversation and cozy relaxation by the efficient corner wood stove. Enjoy dinners for 6-8 around the salvaged wood harvest table, curl up in the family room with a good book from our library, choose from our collection of eclectic DVD’s, or play a game together from our large game selection. The sofa in the family room doubles as additional sleeping with a full size pullout bed. The three bedrooms upstairs (2 double and one queen) offer quiet, cozy comfort and ample storage, inviting you to settle in for a few days or a few weeks. There is extra bedding, towels and basic amenities in the large linen closet. One four-piece bath upstairs, complete with in-floor heat, and a powder room/laundry downstairs provide all the comforts of home. We do have WI-FI but cellular coverage is spotty. Take advantage of this opportunity to unwind and enjoy the charm of this tiny coastal community. Guest access Guests have full access to everything the home and property have to offer. The barn/studio and garage are off-limits to guests. On occasion, you may see a light on in the barn/studio. We are likely working on an art-related project, or taking a short break between adventures. Although we are always happy to answer any questions you may have, your privacy and enjoyment of the house and property are our top priority. Therefore, we will stick to our own private space if we are around at all. Other things to note We expect that our home will be treated with care and left in the condition it was found. There is no smoking permitted inside and we do not accept pets. Please be respectful of the artwork and antiques that have been in our family for many years. We look forward to sharing our home with you for a family vacation, a friend’s weekend away, or quiet couples escape. Please take care of the many things that make this house a home and please be respectful of our neighbours in the Cove by keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm. Seasonal rates vary as well as Christmas, New Year’s and other Holidays. There is a 3-night minimum rental in July and August (2-night minimum throughout the rest of the year). Posted rates are in effect until December 31, 2026. Please ask us about availability and we will do our best to accommodate. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank-you!
